DRUNK CINEMA 061: "Pulp Fiction" Is Up!

"First, I'm gonna deliver this case to Marcellus. Then, basically, I'm just going to walk the Earth."
"Whatchu mean, 'walk the Earth'?"
"You know, like Caine in Kung Fu -- Walk from place to place, meet people, get into adventures."
"And how long do you intend to walk the Earth?"
"Until God puts me where he wants me to be."
"And what if He don't do that?"
"If it takes forever, then I'll walk forever."
-- Jules Winnfield and Vincent Vega, Pulp Fiction

Hello again, movie fans!  My wonderful co-host Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Drunk Cinema! This time, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pulp Fiction, the 1994 crime film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, starring John Travolta as Vincent Vega, Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield, Uma Thurman as Mia Wallace, and Bruce Willis as Butch Coolidge!

This time, Xan and I discuss things like my having breakfast for lunch at the Starliner Diner, finally watching our first Quentin Tarantino film, Pulp Fiction jump-starting or reinvigorating various actors' careers, Pulp Fiction's 30th anniversary, Pulp Fiction being nominated for 7 Academy Awards but only winning one, the reinvention of Tom Hanks' acting career, Kool & the Gang, the Trunk Shot, original plans for Samuel L. Jackson to wear a big afro wig instead of a Jheri curl, wondering if Quentin Tarantino's Los Angeles is in the same universe as David Lynch's Los Angeles, the days of theme restaurants, Fruit Brute being the least-popular Monster Cereal, Xan's sudden exit, not wanting to think about where the ball gags have been, the importance of having Lava soap handy, everything happening when John Travolta goes to the restroom, not letting tragedy keep you from enjoying a great movie, new Drunk Mail from Aaron Case, Christine Peruski and Dave Proctor, Christine bringing receipts that she likes Xan, Quentin Tarantino loving the N-word a little too much, my birthday movie for our next episode, the TV series Spaced, and more!
