"I have never seen anybody lead a perfect life. The best any of us can do is...enjoy what little time we have, and try not to ruin it for anybody else. And whatever mistakes you've made or think you've made, maybe it's not too late to fix them."
-- Hob Gadling to Dream, The Sandman -- "Fuel for the Fire"
Hello again, everyone! DJ Nik and I are back for another new episode of The Fandom Zone Podcast! This time, we discuss "Time and Night", "Fuel for the Fire" and "The Kindly Ones", the seventh, eighth and ninth episodes of The Sandman Season 2, featuring Tom Sturridge as Dream/Morpheus, Razane Jammal as Lyta Hall, Freddie Fox as Loki, and Jack Gleeson as Puck!
In this episode, DJ Nik and I talk about things like both of us counting the days until Alien: Earth, Nik finally caving into temptation by watching one episode ahead, Tom Sturridge having a babyface, "The Kindly Ones" not being my favorite Sandman story arc in the comics, various differences from the original comics, Morpheus' future not being written, Dream bringing the Kindly Ones an offering, Loki and Puck becoming a power couple, Dream's parents being complete jerks, Dream telling Nuala that she should go back to Faerie for her safety, the return of Rose Walker, the easter egg where Dream removes a city inside a glass jar from a chest, Dream waking up his Despair's realm, Puck leaving some sand behind to frame Dream for Daniel's kidnapping, Morpheus interrupting Johanna Constantine's sex dream, wondering if Jenna Coleman was made up to look like the comic book version of Death, Puck and Loki getting into a fight over Daniel, Hob Gadling being like the Highlander, Dream releasing Alex Burgess from his prison, Loki convincing Puck not to give back Daniel and then putting Daniel on a lit fireplace, Dream creating a new Corinthian, the decision to replace Thessaly's role with Mad Hettie, Loki burning Mrs. Shore to death, Puck breaking up with Loki, Loki vs. the new Corinthian, Sandman's Thor being more faithful to Norse mythology than Marvel's Thor, that awkward moment when Titania summons Morpheus to Faerie, the Kindly Ones killing Fiddler's Green, our favorite quotes of the episodes, my joining Nik on Gold Standard: The Oscars Podcast to discuss David Fincher's Seven, wrapping up our discussions of The Sandman, and more!
