THE FANDOM ZONE 326: "The High Cost of Living" Is Up!

"His story is over now, but all stories come to an end...if only so a new one can begin. So, if you miss my brother, if you don't want to forget him, tell his story. Let it inspire yours. Everyone loves a good story. I know my brother did."
-- Death, The Sandman -- "A Tale of Graceful Ends"

Hello again, everyone! DJ Nik and I are back for another new episode of The Fandom Zone Podcast! This time, we discuss "Long Live the King", "A Tale of Graceful Ends" and "Death: The High Cost of Living", the final three episodes of The Sandman Season 2, Tom Sturridge as Dream/Morpheus, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, and introducing Jacob Anderson as Dream/Daniel Hall!

In this episode, DJ Nik and I talk about things like both of us anticipating the third episode of Alien: Earth, Nik being surprised that we got an adaptation of Death: The High Cost of Living, the fast pacing of "The Kindly Ones" storyline, wishing we could've had a third season so we could've had adaptations of the "A Game of You" and "World's End" storylines, some differences from events in the comics, losing Merv Pumpkinhead on top of losing Fiddler's Green, Titania being reluctant to let Dream go back to the Dreaming, Dream choosing to not kill Lyta Hall, Matthew leaving with Dream to confront the Fates, Dream asking Matthew to bring Death to him, the original version of The Crow being the only Crow movie you need to watch, Nuala slicing Lyta's head off as Death claims her brother, Delirium realizing that her brother is gone, the brilliance of Sandman letterer Todd Klein, DC Comics superheroes attending Dream's funeral in the comics, Morpheus' funeral being far more majestic in the comics, Hob learning that Morpheus has died, the second Corinthian not realizing that people may not appreciate his dark sense of humor, the new Dream's attempt to bring back Fiddler's Green, sacrifices becoming pointless when characters are brought back from the dead, the Winter Soldier being far more popular now than he was as Captain America's sidekick Bucky, Lucienne's look of disdain at Lyta's entrance into the funeral service, the Endless speaking at funeral, Morpheus' cosmic Viking funeral sendoff, the new Dream being merciful to Lyta, Tom Sturridge's final scene as Morpheus, the new Dream meeting his family, that awkward moment when Sexton meets Death before trying to kill himself, Death telling Sexton who she really is, Sexton getting taken captive by Mad Hettie, echoes of It's a Wonderful Life, Jackie telling Sexton about her own suicide attempt, that awkward moment when Death gets only one day off every 100 years and she gets locked in a storeroom with Sexton, Sexton finding something in common with Jackie, our favorite quotes of the episodes, new Fandom Zone feedback from Jesse Jackson, my joining Nik on Gold Standard: The Oscars Podcast to discuss David Fincher's Seven, our upcoming discussions of Peacemaker Season 2, and more!
