DRUNK CINEMA 035: "UHF" Is Up!

"What do you say, stranger?"
"Teri? What are you doing here? I thought you never wanted to see me again."
"Well, whatever gave you that idea?"
"Well, my first clue is when you told me you never wanted to see me again."
-- Teri Campbell and George Newman, UHF

Hello again, movie fans!  My wonderful co-host Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Drunk Cinema! This time, we're joined by special guest Rachel Frend as we watch UHF, the 1989 comedy film directed by Jay Levey and featuring "Weird Al" Yankovic as George Newman, Michael Richards as Stanley Spadowski, and Kevin McCarthy as R.J. Fletcher!

In this episode, Xan and I discuss things like learning about the death of Kevin Conroy, Rachel making her debut in the Drunk Cinema Theater, our quick impersonations of my Next Stop Everywhere co-host Jesse Jackson, the release of Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Weird Al voicing Darkseid on the Teen Titans animated series, Michael Richards' racist tirade during his stand-up, Kevin McCarthy as Uncle Walt in Twilight Zone: The Movie, Victoria Jackson disappearing down the alt-right rabbit hole, Fran Drescher on Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, Anthony Geary as Luke Spencer on General Hospital, the opening Raiders of the Lost Ark parody, Rachel keeping Kuni's catchphrase "Stupid!" on her cell phone for emergencies, some background on UHF stations, Stanley's love for his mop, Spatula City being there for all your spatula needs, Weird Al's band being one of the tightest bands you'll never see, David Bowe catching grapes in his mouth, remembering Continental Airlines, Geraldo Rivera always being a sleazeball, Rachel eating camel jerky, Weird Al's Rambo muscle suit, the Homeless Man saving Channel 62, Weird Al and his band doing cover songs, UHF being one of Rachel's "ride or die" movies, some Drunk Mail from Christine Peruski, Rachel asking Weird Al to be her prom date, our paying tribute to Kevin Conroy with Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and more!
