"When you're getting love letters, you don't go around trying to compare the signature to the handwriting!"
"You wanna know why? Cause you wanted to believe it. You wanted it all. All the romance and emotion, all wrapped up in a cute little nose and a cute little ass!."
-- Roxanne Kowalski and Charlie "C.D." Bales, Roxanne
Hello again, movie fans! My wonderful co-host Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Drunk Cinema! This time, we're joined by special guest Christine Peruski as we watch Roxanne, the 1987 romantic comedy film directed by Fred Schepisi, featuring Steve Martin as Charlie "C.D." Bales, Daryl Hannah as Roxanne Kowalski, Rick Rossovich as Chris McConnell, and Shelley Duvall as Dixie!
This time, Xan, Christine and I discuss things like my first broadcast from the Loft of Solitude, paying tribute to the late Shelley Duvall, Christine Peruski returning to the Drunk Cinema Theater after an entire year, the movie A Cry in the Dark, dingo DNA, our needing to watch This Is Spinal Tap, the '80s TV series Real People, the town of Nelson being set in America even though it was filmed in British Columbia, Xan's analysis of C.D.'s tennis form, the cameo by Kevin Nealon, Steve Martin's great bit with the newspaper vending machine, C.D. acting as Chris' wingman, Chris being incredibly stupid, Xan paying a lot for concert tickets, Chris being a nomad firefighter, wooing my wife with long distance letters, wondering why C.D. didn't mail his letters to Roxanne from the same mailbox, new Drunk Mail from Christine Peruski (!), our discussion about watching The In-Laws (1979) or Beetlejuice next, and more!
