DRUNK CINEMA 055: "Scrooged" Is Up!

"The bitch hit me with a toaster!"
-- Frank Cross, Scrooged

Hello again, movie fans!  My wonderful co-host Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Drunk Cinema! This time, we watch Scrooged, the 1988 Christmas fantasy comedy directed by Richard Donner, starring Bill Murray as Frank Cross, Karen Allen as Claire Phillips, and Carol Kane as the Ghost of Christmas Present!

This time, Xan and I discuss things like Xan being the 6th highest-ranked woman in the state of Ohio for pinball, Xan's new intro song, why we're watching Scrooged two weeks after Christmas, Xan being a fan non-traditional Christmas movies, Danny Elfman's scores being very similar to each other, deciding our next Richard Donner film, John Glover in a remake of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, Carol Kane being the best thing in the movie, the "Father Loves Beaver" joke, broadcast TV being appointment television, John Forsythe's makeup as Lew Hayward, David Johansen in the New York Dolls, Frank's life working out because he sat on his ass watching television, live-action kids TV shows, why Michael J. Fox chose the "J" instead of his middle initial "A", Bill Murray and Richard Donner not getting along on set, Richard Donner "firing" the entire cast and crew so they could have Christmas off from filming, The Ghost of Christmas Present being a demented version of Glinda the Good Witch and Tinkerbell, Xan's favorite line in Scrooged, the gag about Trump Tower being in the sewer, taking the word "zerbert" back, cheesy cameos from C-list TV stars, new Drunk Mail from Christine Peruski, our second attempt to watch Never Say Never Again, and more!

Be sure to come back in two weeks as Xan and I finally watch Never Say Never Again, the 1983 unofficial James Bond film directed by Irvin Kershner, starring Sean Connery as James Bond, Klaus Maria Brandauer as Maximillian Largo, Kim Basinger as Domino Petachi, and Bernie Casey as Felix Leiter!
