NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 251: "The Vanquishers" Is Up!

"Need a lift anywhere?"
"Why? Where are you going?"
"No idea. Wanna come?"
-- The Thirteenth Doctor and Dan Lewis,
Doctor Who: "The Vanquishers"

Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with a new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast!  This time, we're joined by special guest companion DJ Nik to discuss "The Vanquishers", Chapter Six of "Flux", the final episode from Doctor Who Series 13, featuring Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor, Mandip Gill as Yasmin "Yaz" Khan, John Bishop as Dan Lewis, and Craig Parkinson as the Grand Serpent!

In this episode, Jesse, Nik and I discuss things like a DoorDash driver plowing into my garage even though I'm not a customer, Nik's fugue state with Celine Dion, my not knowing everything, people giving 1-star ratings to "The Vanquishers" on IMDb before the episode even aired, Nik's belated thoughts on "Village of the Angels", the episode being one of only six episodes set on the same day it was broadcast, wondering if "The Vanquishers" counts as a multi-Doctor story because it features three versions of the same incarnation, Jodie Whittaker as Time, having to assume why the TARDIS isn't sick anymore, Chris Chibnall setting up the Gallifreyan fob watch for future Doctor Who showrunners, the importance of adding more mystery around the Doctor if you're going to reveal something, the Ravagers being built up as something big and powerful only to be taken off the board by Time, Professor Jericho's death scene, wondering why Diane rejected Dan's offer to try dinner again, the complete lack of information regarding the damage the Flux did to the universe, wondering what happens to the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Sontarans after they were wiped out by the Flux, Dan officially becoming a companion, finally learning what the deal was with Joseph Williamson and his tunnels, why Karvanista can't say what happened when he was the Doctor's companion during their time together in the Division, the Sontarans getting on Nik's nerves, the convenient disposal of the Flux, the off-camera genocide of the Lupari by the Sontarans, the Sontarans being addicted to chocolate, the Grand Serpent being stranded on a small asteroid in the middle of space, Bel and Vinder's baby being just Bel and Vinder's baby, the Grand Serpent's obsession with Kate Stewart, our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Sandi from Oregon and Holly from Wisconsin, Jesse, Nik and I planning a special George Perez tribute episode for TitanTalk: The Titans Podcast, three special guest companions joining us for our upcoming holiday episode "The Snowmen", and more!
