Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with a new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast!  This time, we're joined by special guest companion DJ Nik to discuss "The Halloween Apocalypse", Chapter One of "Flux", the first episode from Doctor Who Series 13, featuring Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor, Mandip Gill as Yasmin "Yaz" Khan, and the debuts of John Bishop as Dan Lewis and Sam Spruell as Swarm!

In this episode, Jesse, Nik and I discuss things like finally getting to discuss a brand-new episode of Doctor Who, Nik taking shots at the Detroit Red Wings, "Flux" being Doctor Who's first serialized season in the modern era, Chris Chibnall trying to one-up the classic era, some Series 13 news, Jacob Anderson as Grey Worm on Game of Thrones, some historical background on Joseph Williamson, some background on the Liverpool/Barcelona football match form 2019, Liverpool musicians, the Doctor only worrying about Earth instead of other planets being destroyed by the Flux, Dan having too much pride to accept help, Jesse's apology to Chris Chibnall for doubting his revelation about the Doctor in "The Timeless Children", the fun of theorizing about "Flux" even after only Chapter One, wishing that we had gotten a few episodes of just the Doctor and Yaz before Dan came along, the Thirteenth Doctor being the most secretive Doctor since Sylvester McCoy's Seventh Doctor, Yaz becoming the senior companion, knowing that Dan was going to miss his date with Diane, the various nods to Rose Tyler, Karvanista being the Doctor's last remaining link to The Division, wondering who gave the Lupari their mission to protect humans on Earth, the Flux being reminiscent of the antimatter wave in DC Comics' Crisis on Infinite Earths, our early guesses about the Flux, the mystery of Claire knowing the Doctor and Yaz but them not knowing her, Nik's Weeping Angel clock, looking forward to an actual army of Sontarans in the next episode, trying to figure out Claire's timeline with the Weeping Angels, my possible explanation for why the classic and modern era Sontarans look different, Swarm revealing that Anna is actually his sister Azure, Gunnar Cauthery in The Demon Headmaster, why Swarm will not be revealed as the Master, our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Holly Mac and Dave Proctor, trying to get Jesse to join Nik and me to discuss Hawkeye on The Fandom Zone Podcast, trying to get Nik to come back for the Series 13 finale, and more!
