Hello again, Titans fans!  My fellow TitanTalker Jesse Jackson and I are back with another new episode of TitanTalk: The Titans Podcast!  This time, we reopen Titans Tower to discuss "Trigon", the first episode from Season 2 of the DC Universe series Titans, featuring Seamus Dever as Trigon, and introducing Iain Glen as Bruce Wayne and Esai Morales as Deathstroke!

New TITANS Season 2 Trailer Introduces Doctor Light & Shimmer

Titans Tower is back open for business.

DC has released a new trailer for the second season of the DC Universe series Titans, based on the DC Comics superteam.  The two-minute trailer features even more footage than the previous trailer that was released three weeks ago, while giving us our first look at new Season 2 villains Doctor Light and Shimmer.

The trailer opens with footage from the Season One episode "Asylum", where Richard "Dick" Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) burned his Robin uniform after giving up his superhero identity.  We hear a voiceover from Donna Troy (Conor Leslie), who says, "You burned the suit, you're not Robin anymore, so what now?"

We cut to Hank Hall (Alan Ritchson) and Dawn Granger (Minka Kelly), who are having an intense conversation inside a log cabin somewhere.  "Being Hawk and Dove was dangerous for both of us," Hank tells Dawn.  "I stopped, but if you can't, we're done."

Next, we cut to another intense conversation, this time between Aqualad (Drew Van Acker) and Donna Troy as another woman looks on.  "You're asking me to choose between your destiny and you," Donna tells him, hinting that the two may have had a relationship in this TV continuity.

Aqualad replies, "Maybe they're the same thing."

We then see Raven (Teagan Croft) talking on the phone to someone while emotionally upset and drained.  "I'm so tired," she says to the person on the other end.

Dawn confronts Dick inside their new/old Titans Tower headquarters, giving him an ultimatum.  "End your little experiment or I will burn this place down myself."

"There's ghosts in this place," Donna remarks to Dick in a separate scene.  "Tell them what happened."

In the next scene, we see Jason Todd, the second Robin (Curran Walters), getting up in Dick's grill as Raven and Garfield Logan (Ryan Potter) watch in the background.  "Look, I don't take orders from you anymore, man," Jason tells Dick.

"Get out of my way," Dick threatens in response.

"You're in my way," counters Jason.

We shift to stately Wayne Manor, where Dick asks his former mentor Bruce Wayne (Iain Glen), "Would you do it again?  Devote all that time and trouble to someone who just wants to leave?"

"I would do everything exactly the same," Bruce responds in a voiceover.

In a separate scene, cut with Hawk and Dove fighting some criminals, Dick tells Raven, "I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do."  Raven responds, "I don't think you have a choice."

Another scene, this time with Starfire (Anna Diop), who asks Dick, "You ready for this, Grayson?"  Dick replies, "Yep."

We then see Dick training Gar how to swordfight, with Dick completely blindfolded.

Next, we see Donna using her magic lasso on the supervillain Shimmer, snagging her by the hands and yanking her forward so that Starfire can knock her out with a punch.  "What is the deal with you and Shimmer, anyway?" Starfire asks in a voiceover.

Donna replies, "Well first, her name is Shimmer and that's just annoying."

In the next scene, Superboy (Joshua Orpin) grabs the gun of a criminal in an alley and bends it upward, then meets Krypto the Superdog after the two escape Cadmus Labs.  "Okay, Krypto," he tells the Superdog while reading a nametag on a borrowed uniform, "I guess I am...Conner."  He then grabs his familiar black t-shirt with the red Superman logo from a street vendor in Metropolis.

Rose Wilson, the daughter of Deathstroke, is brought to Titans Tower after losing her left eye.  "Hey, what the hell is this place, anyway?" she asks Dick.

"This is a place where people like you can learn how to the be the best version of who you are," explains Dick as we see him sparring with Rose, now sporting a black eyepatch like her father, who severs Dick's wooden staff in two with her sword.

"I hope I haven't broken this place," remarks Rose.

Starfire is then confronted in the street by an unknown man who appears to be from her home planet of Tamaran.  "Hello, Miss Koriand'r," says the man.

"Who else did they send?" asks Kory.

"Just me," replies the man.  He then tazes Kory with a device and she slumps unconscious into his arms.  "Sorry about that, your highness."

We cut to Doctor Light (Michael Mosley), who is wearing what appears to be a prototype armored costume and is unleashing his light-based powers on innocents.  "I'm glad you could make it!" he shouts.

As the second Robin interrupts a TV news broadcast to say "The Titans are back, bitches!", we see that Slade Wilson (Esai Morales), a.k.a. Deathstroke, is watching the broadcast.

"Slade Wilson is why we shuttered this place..." Donna begins telling someone off-camera, hinting that Deathstroke may have killed Aqualad during the previous incarnation of the Titans.  We see Deathstroke aiming a sniper rifle at someone as Donna continues, "...Sooner or later, he'll come knocking."

As one of Deathstroke's assassination targets drops to the floor, Hank remarks in a voiceover, "He's gonna kill how many more now?"

As Donna, Hank, Dawn and Dick stand beside one another and watch something off-camera, Dawn tells Dick, "Now's the time.  Be Batman."

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER D23 Special Look Teases Sith Lord Rey

Your Skywalker Saga journey nears its end.

Disney has released the special look footage of the upcoming film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which debuted this past weekend at the Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, California.

After some brief highlight clips from the original Star Wars trilogy, the prequel trilogy and The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, the new footage begins around the 1:12 mark.

We see Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) come across a crowded alien village, followed by a quick glimpse of General Leia Organa (the late Carrie Fisher).

Next, we glimpse a group of remaining Rebel fighters and a large fleet of Star Destroyers above a planet having a thunderstorm.  Finn and new Resistance ally character Jannah (Naomi Ackie) stare at them from inside a ship.

C-3PO raises up, now sporting red eyes, which is followed by something offscreen firing a destructive energy weapon at a planet below.

In a forest, Rey seems upset about something and hurls her lightsaber, which spins around and cuts a nearby tree in half before it returns to her hand.

As we see Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) leaving his TIE silencer on Planet Thunderstorm and activating his lightsaber, we hear the voice of Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) begin saying "Your journey..."

We cut to Kylo Ren and Rey having another lightsaber fight (their last?) aboard some sort of freighter in the middle of a raging ocean, while Palpatine finishes saying, "...nears its end."

Finally, we hear of familiar breathing of Darth Vader and see Rey in a black hooded cloak and costume, looking very much like a Sith Lord.  She holds a two-pronged lightsaber with red energy blades, which she snaps into a dual-edged lightsaber similar to Darth Maul's from Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace.  

Has Rey succumbed to the Dark Side?  Is Palpatine's spirit possessing her body?  Or is this just some vision of what might happen if Rey isn't careful?

THE ETERNALS Casts Kit Harington as The Black Knight & Gemma Chan as Sersi

It seems Kit Harington's watch is eternal.

CBR has word from Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, where it was announced that actors Kit Harington, Gemma Chan and Barry Keoghan are joining the cast of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film The Eternals, based on the Marvel Comics characters.  They will play the characters The Black Knight/Dane Whitman, Sersi and Druig, respectively.

The three join Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.  The full roster of the Eternals were presented at D23 along with each character's costume, which can be seen in the picture above.

The Eternals are a fictional species of humanity that resulted from an offshoot of the evolutionary process that created sentient life on Earth.  The original instigators of this process, the alien Celestials, intended the Eternals to be the defenders of Earth, which leads to the inevitability of war against their destructive counterparts, the Deviants.

Harrington, 32, is an English actor best known as Jon Snow on the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones.  His other films include Pompeii, How to Train Your Dragon 2, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Spooks: The Greater Good, Brimstone, and Silent HIll: Revelation.

Created in 1967 by Roy Thomas, John Buscema and George Tuska, the Black Knight first appeared in The Avengers (vol.1) #47 as Dane Whitman, the original Black Knight's descendant and the supervillain Black Knight's nephew.  Whitman inherited the Ebony Blade, a mystical sword that carried a curse, and took the Black Knight name to help restore honor.  The Black Knight has been a member of various incarnations of the Avengers, as well as the Defenders, Ultraforce, Heroes for Hire, and MI: 13.

Chan, 36, is an English actress best known as Astrid in the film Crazy Rich Asians, and as Minn-Erva in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Captain Marvel.  Her other films include Mary Queen of Scots, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.  Her television roles include the Doctor Who special "The Waters of Mars" as Mia Bennett, the Sherlock episode "The Blind Banker", and as Anita/Mia in the series Humans.

Created in 1963 by Jack Kirby, Sersi first appeared in Strange Tales (vol.1) #109 as a fourth generation member of the Eternals, an evolutionary offshoot of the human race.  She is the daughter of the Eternals Helios and Perse, and was probably born in Olympia, Greece, some time after the Great Cataclysm that destroyed the continents of Atlantis and Lemuria, during an extended ice age known as the Hyborean Age.  As a sorceress, Sersi first met Avengers members Captain America and Thor, then later joined the team along with the Black Knight.

The Eternals is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 6, 2020.
