DAREDEVIL Season 3 Trailer Introduces Bullseye

We've never seen a talent like his.

Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming third season of Daredevil, based on the Marvel Comics superhero and starring Charlie Cox.  The new 60-second trailer gives us our first good look at Wilson Bethel as the supervillain Bullseye.

The trailer opens with Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter (Bethel) speaking with a counselor, about an ambush Dex was involved in.  "Talk to me about the ambush," says the counselor.

As we get a glimpse of the Kingpin/Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) in the back of a police cruiser, we then see Dex firing his weapon at someone.  "This isn't the first time you've used lethal force," continues the counselor.

This is followed by a quick glimpse of Dex taking out two masked criminals by hurling knives into their throats.  "If I were wearing a mask, the press would be calling me a hero," replies Dex.  We then see two more criminals saying they surrender, only to have Dex kill them as well with his weapon.

"I work for the federal government," says Dex in a separate scene as we see him setting a wastebasket full of tapes marked "Poindexter" on fire.  "FBI helped keep me on the straight and narrow...but now, I'm drowning in deep water."

Dex appears to hear a female voice repeatedly telling him to "Do it, Dex", which is immediately followed by glimpses of his rage and apparent mental illness.

"I've never seen a talent like yours," remarks the Kingpin as we see Dex wearing a replica of Daredevil's uniform and attacking people in a church with billy clubs.

"We're in danger," says Matt Murdock (Cox) as we see him bloodied and battered.  "He found someone to kill me!"

We see a glimpse of Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) cradling an unconscious Matt, who is wearing his Season 1 black costume once again.

In the final shot, we have Dex in his Dexdevil costume saying, "Hello, Karen.  I'm Daredevil."  This is quickly followed by a shot of Dexdevil stomping his boot hard at someone on the ground.  Yeah, that doesn't sound good if you're at all familiar with Bullseye from the comics.

HARLEY QUINN Casts Kaley Cuoco as Harley, Releases First Look Trailer

Harley Quinn just returned fire at Deadpool.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the world premiere screening of DC Universe's series Titans at New York Comic Con featured actress Kaley Cuoco, who announced that she's starring in the streaming service's upcoming animated series Harley Quinn, based on the DC Comics character.

Cuoco, 32, is best known as Penny on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory and has appeared in the movies The Wedding Ringer and Virtuosity. Her other TV appearances include episodes of Prison Break, Charmed, Northern Exposure, 8 Simple Rules, The Ellen Show, Ellen, and My So-Called Life.

Announced back in November 2017, Harley Quinn is a new adult animated comedy that follows Harley’s adventures after she breaks up with the Joker and strikes out on her own. With the help of Poison Ivy and a ragtag crew of DC castoffs, Harley tries to earn a seat at the biggest table in villainy: the Legion of Doom.

The voice cast also includes Lake Bell (Wet Hot American Summer) as Poison Ivy, Diedrich Bader (Veep) as Batman, Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Ron Funches (Powerless), JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Jason Alexander (Seinfeld), Wanda Sykes (Black-ish), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Natalie Morales (Bojack Horseman), Jim Rash (Community), Tony Hale (Veep) and Chris Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit).

In addition, the announcement featured a 50-second "first look" teaser trailer for Harley Quinn, featuring Cuoco's Harley and her gal pal Poison Ivy inside Arkham Asylum, breaking the fourth wall and directly addressing the New York Comic Con audience. In the trailer, Harley claims her new show "has got comedy, action, incredibly gratuitous violence, and unlike that Deadpool cartoon, it's actually comin' out." She also states "everyone in my show is gonna have fun or I will bash their f#@%ing heads in!"

At that moment, Batman drops down from outside to say "There's no fun in Arkham, Quinn," causing Harley to dismiss him as "a real buzzkill."

Jon Favreau Reveals His STAR WARS TV Series Is THE MANDALORIAN

Jon Favreau is looking to tell a story about a simple man trying to make his way in the universe.

Via his official Instagram account, writer, director and producer Jon Favreau has revealed that the title of his upcoming live-action Star Wars television series will be called The Mandalorian and will be set between the events of Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  The series for Disney's upcoming streaming service was announced last March, but has been kept secret until now.

Favreau's post, which gives a nod to the famous Star Wars opening crawls, states "After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe.  The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.…”

Favreau, 51, is a longtime Star Wars fan, and voiced the alien Rio Durant in this summer's Solo: A Star Wars Story.  Previously, he voiced the Mandalorian warrior Pre Vizskla in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

When The Mandalorian was first announced, he remarked, "If you told me at 11 years old that I would be getting to tell stories in the Star Wars universe, I wouldn’t have believed you.  I can’t wait to embark upon this exciting adventure."

KRYPTON Casts Emmett J. Scanlan as Lobo

The Main Man is finally coming to live action.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the Syfy series Krypton has cast Emmett J. Scanlan as DC Comics antihero Lobo.  The role will be recurring throughout the show's upcoming second season.

Lobo is described in the article as "the ruthless bounty hunter who murdered his entire species."

Scanlan, 39, is an Irish actor perhaps best known to DC Comics fans as Jim Corrigan, the Spectre, on the NBC series Constantine, as Simon on the BBC America zombie series In the Flesh, and as Brendan Brady on the British soap opera Hollyoaks.  He also appeared in the Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy as the Head Riot Guard, and on episodes of Atlantis, No Offence, Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands, and Safe.

Created in 1983 by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, Lobo first appeared in Omega Men (vol.1) #3 as a Velorpian whose entire race had been exterminated by the Psions.  Lobo played an important role in the Citadel War, in his capacity as a bounty hunter.  He was hired by the Citadel's human agent Harry Hokum to capture the Euphorian known as Kalista in a bid to learn the secret behind her home world's planetary shield.  Along with fellow bounty hunters Bedlam and Berserk, he raided the mothership belonging to the Omega Men, where upon he engaged in combat with Kalista.  Soon after, Harry Hokum hired Lobo once again, this time to assassinate the Omega Men's interim leader Tigorr.  Lobo never had the opportunity to complete the contract however.

In 1988's Justice League International (vol.1) #18, the character was revamped as a Czarnian whose name comes from a Khund dialect that means "one who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it."  He hailed from the planet Czarnia, which was a virtual paradise that knew nothing of war and the Czarnians were almost immortal.  When Lobo was born, his evil was so frighteningly apparent, the nurse who delivered him went insane and became the planet's first mental patient in ten millennia after the infant Lobo chewed off four of her fingers.  Lobo knew he was one of a kind, but he wanted even more.  Inspired by the idea of genocide, Lobo created a swarm of lethal scorpion-like creatures and set them on his people, wiping out his entire species but himself.

After traveling across the galaxies as an intergalactic bounty hunter, Lobo made his first appearance on the planet Earth when he was hired by Manga Khan to take out the newly formed Justice League International.  However, after Big Barda teleported Lobo across the galaxy, Lobo landed on Earth in the Justice League Embassy.  After a brief altercation with Guy Gardner, Lobo hung around, pretending to be a friend, while waiting for the right moment.   Before he could act, however, Manga Khan canceled his contract.  Since then, he encountered various DC Comics superheroes, operating solo or as a member of L.E.G.I.O.N.

In the current DC continuity known as DC Rebirth, Lobo was reintroduced in the limited series Justice League vs. Suicide Squad as one of the villains freed by Maxwell Lord who was a member of Amanda Waller's first Suicide Squad.  Batman eventually implanted a bomb into Lobo's brain and detonated it, blowing up Lobo's head.  After Lobo regenerated it, he discovered Batman did so to free him from Lord's control, and later accepted Batman's offer to join a new incarnation of the Justice League of America to repay the favor.

Scanlan will be the first actor to portray Lobo in live action, although the character has appeared in various animated projects, including Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League (voiced by Brad Garrett), Young Justice (voiced by David Sobolov), and Justice League Action (voiced by John DiMaggio).

Krypton is expected to return to Syfy for Season 2 sometime in 2019.

TITANS International Trailer Brings the Titans Together

Needless to say...Titans together!

Netflix, which is handling the international distribution for the upcoming DC Universe series Titans, has released a new 2 minute, 25 second trailer for the series that looks far more appealing than DC Universe's disappointing first trailer.

We open inside police headquarters in Detroit, Michigan, where a male police detective is studying security camera footage of the alley where Robin fought some bad guys.  "Are you sure it's him?" he asks another detective.  "We called Gotham P. D.  He hasn't been seen for over a year."

Next, we see Robin leaping high above that alley, as said bad guys wonder, "What was what?"

"Disappeared they said," continues the male detective.

"They thought he might be dead," replies Detective Jessica Perez (Liza Colón-Zayas), who is standing in front of Detective Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites).

"Why come here?" asks the male detective.  "Why Detroit?"

"The weather?" suggests Grayson.

Back to the scene in the alley, one bad guy asks, "Where's Batman?" while another observes, "Hey, the little birdie's alone."

After we see Robin take out said bad guys, and this time not killing any of them or stepping on their necks, the male detective remarks, "Let's just hope the hell he's passing through."

In a separate scene, we see Grayson speaking with Raven/Rachel Roth (Teagan Croft) in a police interrogation room.  He introduces himself and asks her, "You wanna talk about what happened?"

"Can you help me?" asks Raven.

We cut to Raven's home, where she calls out for her mother, only to find The Acolyte (Jarreth J. Merz) shoving her mother Angela into view.  "Rachel," says the Acolyte.  "That's what she calls you."

Cutting back to the interrogation room, Raven begins to cry and tells Grayson, "There is something inside of me..."  We cut to a separate scene, where Raven is using some sort of sonic cry that shatters a glass table, just before a shadowy form (that may be her soul-self) lashes out and attacks someone.  "...Something evil," continues Raven.

In a different scene, we see Grayson trying to reassure Raven with a hug.  "Nothing bad's going to happen to you, don't worry."

In another scene, we see Grayson talking with Dove/Dawn Granger (Minka Kelly), who advises him, "Taking care of a kid is complicated.  You know that better than anyone.  I know how healing it must be doing what Bruce did for you when you lost your parents."

As we see Grayson and Raven sitting in a diner booth, followed by a flashback of young Dick Grayson arriving at Wayne Manor, Dawn continues asking, "What happened between you and Bruce?"

"I guess we had different ideas of how to do the job," replies Grayson.

Cutting back to the diner booth scene, Grayson tells Raven, "We're gonna go see some old friends of mine."

We shift to another scene, where Beast Boy/Garfield Logan (Ryan Potter) transforms from a green tiger into his green (and naked) human form as Starfire/Koriand'r (Anna Diop) laughs in amusement and Grayson and Raven look on.

In a different scene, we see Raven and Beast Boy awkwardly bonding while playing pinball and Raven tells Beast Boy that she likes his hair.

Another scene features Starfire driving a car, with Raven in the passenger seat.  "Call me Kory," she says to Raven.

"What do you want from me?" asks Raven.

"I've been looking for you.  There are people out there trying to hurt you."  This is followed by a couple of glimpses of Starfire using her fire-based powers.

"Total badass," remarks Raven.

"I feel danger," remarks Starfire as we glimpse DC Comics supervillains The Nuclear Family.  We see Nuclear Mom (Melody Johnson) finding Raven.  "There you are, dear," she says menacingly.

This is followed by Raven being wheeled in on a hospital gurney by a pair of nuns.  "What are you doing?" asks Raven.

"We all must make sacrifices, child," says one of the nuns.

We then see several fleeting images, including dark energy swirling above Raven as the other Titans look on, Starfire being shot with a bullet that triggers her powers, Hawk and Dove fighting bad guys, Beast Boy baring his fangs, Beast Boy (as a tiger) flinging someone across the room, Robin fighting some more bad guys, and Starfire punching someone across a room and being shocked by her strength.

In a final scene, we see Grayson driving a car with Raven again in the passenger seat.  "Do it ever go away?" she asks.

"What?" replies Grayson.

"The feeling you got left behind?"

More fleeting images follow, including a shattered mirror being telekinetically moved through the air by Raven, Grayson and Starfire looking upwards at a swarm of bats, Starfire kissing someone (Grayson, perhaps?), and lastly, Raven screaming and blowing out a bunch of car windshields.
