DRUNK CINEMA 075: "For Your Eyes Only" Is Up!

"The Chinese have a saying -- 'Before setting off on revenge, you first dig two graves.'"
-- James Bond to Melina Havelock, For Your Eyes Only

Hello again, movie fans!  My wonderful co-host Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Drunk Cinema! This time, we watch For Your Eyes Only, the 1981 James Bond series espionage film directed by John Glen, featuring Roger Moore as James Bond, Carole Bouquet as Melina Havelock, Chaim Topol as Milos Columbo, and Julian Glover as Aristotle Kristatos!

This time, Xan and I discuss things like Xan and her husband Chris saying goodbye to the Barnes & Noble where they met, Amazon securing the rights to the James Bond franchise, the decision to adapt Moonraker first to cash in on the popularity of Star Wars before adapting For Your Eyes Only, the movie being based on Ian Fleming's short stories "For Your Eyes Only" and "Risico", our personal Top 5 James Bond theme songs, Christopher Cross' "Arthur's Theme (The Best You Can Do)" beating Sheena Easton's "For Your Eyes Only" for Best Original Song, Roger Moore having a face that doesn't look like it can take a punch, Carole Bouquet being perfect as Marvel's Elektra, Desmond Llewelyn being the definitive Q, Charles Dance's cameo as Emile Locque's henchman, why "Blofeld" in the beginning pre-credits sequence isn't credited as Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Xan not liking Lotus Esprits, Q not settling for a piece of crap dot matrix printer, bikes with spikes, preferring Bond girls who are more than just eye candy, the parrot waiting for someone to feed it, Aristotle Kristatos creeping on Bibi Dahl, Bond's "detente" solution, new Drunk Mail from Dave Proctor and Christine Peruski, our original plans to watch Strange Brew for our next episode, and more!
