NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 381: "The Time Warrior: Regenerated" Is Up!

"A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting."
-- The Third Doctor, Doctor Who: "The Time Warrior"

Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back for another new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast! This time, we begin the Sarahthon as we regenerate our discussion of "The Time Warrior", the first serial from Doctor Who Season 13 in 1973, featuring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, and the introductions of the Sontarans and Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith!

In this episode, Jesse and I discuss things like Jesse celebrating his 50th high school reunion, my teasing Jesse about the Dallas Cowboys having a worse record than the Cleveland Browns, the tenth anniversary of our previous discussion of "The Time Warrior", Jeremy Bulloch as the original Boba Fett, David Daker as Kevin's Father in Time Bandits, the first mention of Gallifrey, April Walker originally being considered for the role of Sarah Jane Smith, script editor Terrance Dicks giving writer Robert Holmes the task of writing a story set in a medieval castle. Robert Holmes using a 10-volume series on military strategy as inspiration for the Sontarans, the first appearance of the iconic diamond-shaped logo, the original script featuring a full-scale battle scenes of knights in armor and the Doctor killing Linx, Kevin Lindsay's heart condition, Kevin Linsday insisting on the pronunciation of "Sontaran", the Third Doctor meeting Sarah Jane for the first time, Sarah Jane originally thinking that the Doctor was helping Irongron, wondering why Sarah Jane didn't have her "bigger on the inside" moment after entering the TARDIS, Hal the archer as an Almost Companion, Jesse not taking the Sontarans seriously, Linx having to create time-travel so that he could repair his ship in the Middle Ages, Linx kissing his alliance with Irongron goodbye, our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Reverse the Polarity segment, new listener feedback from Holly Mac, Dave Proctor and Sandi from Oregon, some news on my story for DC Comics' upcoming Christmas anthology DC's Naughty List, Jesse joining DJ Nik and I on The Fandom Zone to discuss the Lanterns season finale, my giving Jesse a heads-up about the poor special effects in "Invasion of the Dinosaurs", and more!
