Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with another new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast! This time, we celebrate our 12th anniversary with special guest Rachel Frend as we regenerate our discussion of "Deep Breath", the first episode of Doctor Who Series 8 from 2014, featuring Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor, Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald, and the final appearance of the Paternoster Gang!

In this episode, Jesse, Rachel and I discuss things like Jesse not getting me handkerchiefs for our twelfth anniversary, Jesse listening to our original discussion of "Deep Breath", why Rachel wanted to discuss this episode, Rachel's reaction to watching the episode for the first time, Jesse's thoughts on rewatching the episode, my thoughts on Steven Moffat drawing too much attention to Peter Capaldi being older than Matt Smith, our regret that there wasn't a TV spinoff special or series starring the Paternoster Gang, Brian Miller being the widower of Elisabeth Sladen, the episode and its script being leaked online before the episode originally aired, the scene of Madame Vastra and her wife Jenny Flint exchanging a kiss being cut from the Asian broadcast, Madame Vastra using the Brigadier's line from "Planet of the Spiders", Peter Capaldi playing Lobus Caecilius in "The Fires of Pompeii", Inspector Gregson being named after Inspector Tobias Gregson in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 1887 Sherlock Holmes novel A Study in Scarlet, Courtney Woods being retroactively added into the episode, our problem with Clara reacting so badly to the Doctor's regeneration after she traveled through the Doctor's timeline and met multiple incarnations, my appreciation as a Sherlock Holmes fan of Madame Vastra, Strax providing good comic relief, Rachel not being a fan of "The Girl in the Fireplace", whether the Doctor murdered the Half-Face Man, Moffat working the philosophical discussion of the Ship of Theseus into his script, my calling my shot in our original 2014 discussion that Missy would turn out to be a female incarnation of The Master, our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Polarity segment, new listener feedback from Sandi from Oregon, going back to the Jon Pertwee era, and more!
