Hello again, everyone!  I'm back with a new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast!  This time, I'm joined by special guest companion Holly Mac to discuss "Black Orchid", the fifth serial from Doctor Who Season 19 in 1982, featuring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Janet Fielding as Tegan Jovanka, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and Ann Talbot, Matthew Waterhouse as Adric, and Michael Cochrane as Lord Cranleigh!

In this episode, Holly and I discuss things like my being proud of my wife Lori on last week's episode "The Girl in the Fireplace", Jesse needing to recover from his recent surgery, the original Sarah Jane Smith spinoff series plot K-9 and Company, Holly scratching her head about why "Black Orchid" isn't more appreciated by fans, "Black Orchid" being the last Doctor Who TV story featuring no science fiction elements apart from the TARDIS and the regular cast, the abandoned plot point of Tegan being the only one who knew how to tell Nyssa and Ann apart, John Nathan-Turner originally wanting to direct this story himself, writer Terence Dudley turning his old murder mystery script into a Doctor Who story, Terence Dudley almost writing the original 1963 pilot for Doctor Who, "An Unearthly Child" having a great first episode but three dull episodes afterward, Matthew Waterhouse suggesting Adric would be more interested in the food so he could avoid dance choreography, stuntman Gareth Milne missing his target of cardboard boxes after falling from the roof, Peter Davison showing off his cricket skills, The Doctor getting blamed for George Cranleigh attacking Ann, The Doctor trying to prove his innocence by showing Sir Robert Muir the inside of the TARDIS, the TARDIS taking pity on the Doctor with an accurate short trip to Cranleigh Hall, not getting an explanation for why Nyssa and Ann are twinsies, Tegan doing the Charleston, Adric being only interested in eating, wondering why Ann didn't sense the masked harlequin was George, George escaping his room by setting fire to the door, wondering why the Doctor will treasure George's book as a gift from Lady Cranleigh, our favorite quotes of the episode, new feedback from Dave Proctor, Xan and I talking Ghostbusters on Drunk Cinema, Christine Peruski doing a Revisited commentary episode next time, and more!
