DRUNK CINEMA 058: "An American Werewolf in London" Is Up!

"A naked American man stole my balloons."
-- Little Boy, An American Werewolf in London

Hello again, movie fans!  My wonderful co-host Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Drunk Cinema! This time, we celebrate Xan's birthday by watching An American Werewolf in Londonthe 1981 comedy horror film directed by John Landis, starring David Naughton as David Kessler, Jenny Agutter as Nurse Alex Price, and Griffin Dunne as Jack Goodman!

This time, Xan and I discuss things like celebrating Xan's last week of being 47, Rick Baker winning the first-ever Oscar for Best Makeup, John Landis being partially responsible for the death of Vic Morrow, David Naughton's song "Makin' It", Griffin Dunne as Tommy Kelly in Johnny Dangerously, the three Doctor Who connections, this being our second Frank Oz film, Xan delivering pizza to Torchwood headquarters at Roald Dahl Plass in Cardiff, Wales, The Slaughtered Lamb being the worst British pub ever, the cameo by Rik Mayall from The Young Ones, wondering why the pub guys didn't shoot David right after the werewolf attack, my wondering why I didn't get a hot nurse like Alex Price when I was in the hospital, Alex wearing David's NYU shirt, the pointless scene of David pacing back and forth in Alex's flat, David's first transformation into a werewolf being amazing for the time but taking way too long, the surprise appearance by UNIT from Doctor Who, the magic bullets going around Alex to shoot David, new Drunk Mail from Christine Peruski and Dave Proctor, finally getting around to Ghostbusters II, and more!
