"Okay, sweetie, you're up at a Katy Perry, and I'm going to need you to bring it way down to an Alicia Keys."
-- Maura Lee Karupt, Doom Patrol: "Casey Patrol"

Hello again, Titans & Doom Patrol fans! DJ Nik and I are back with a new episode of TitanTalk: The Titans Podcast! This time, we discuss "Casey Patrol", the fourth episode of Doom Patrol Season 4, featuring the return of Abi Monterey as Dorothy Spinner & Alan Mingo Jr. as Maura Lee Karupt, and the introduction of Madeline Zima as Space Case/Casey Brinke!

In this episode, DJ Nik and I discuss things like Nik enjoying Hanukkah, catching up with Dorothy Spinner and Maura Lee Karupt, Nik playing Laser Tag in Italy, Madeline Zima as Tracey Barberato on Twin Peaks: The Return, Tyler Mane as Sabretooth in the first X-Men movie, some comics background on Space Case and Torminox, some background on the phrase "Bona to Vada", the short experimental film Bona to Vada, Dorothy going through her sulky teenage years, the current status of the Dead Boy Detectives spinoff series, Dorothy getting upset that Danny made her a banana split, the Candlemaker now being under Dorothy's control as her protector and weapon, Dorothy coming of age and leaving Danny the Street, Dorothy unloading all of her repressed emotions about her father on Torminox, Torminox being powerful enough to take out both Danny and the Candlemaker, Maura Lee Karupt using her Morris Wilson voice to tell Dorothy to get back inside her trailer, Maura Lee realizing that she and her friends can't change the world unless they leave their safe space with Danny, that awkward moment when Maura Lee assumes an ally is adding hateful graffiti instead of getting rid of it, the epilogue teasing more of the "Immortus will rise" subplot, Dorothy telling Casey that she brought her into the real world from a comic book, Casey freezing in battle against her father Torminox, my theory on who the mystery artist is, Maura Lee repeatedly butchering Torminox's name, our favorite quotes from the episode, some new Tell It to TitanTalk feedback from Steve Sigmund, Nik joining me on Ghostwood: The Twin Peaks Podcast to discuss the film 8 1/2, our upcoming discussion of "Youth Patrol", and more!

DOCTOR WHO 60th Anniversary Teaser Trailer Features the Return of Donna Noble

Merry Christmas, Whovians! We have a new Doctor Who trailer!

The official Doctor Who YouTube account has released a new teaser trailer for the first of three specials for Doctor Who's 60th anniversary in 2023, featuring David Tennant as the mysterious new Fourteenth Doctor and the return of Catherine Tate as former Tenth Doctor companion Donna Noble.

The one-minute teaser trailer opens in 2023 London, with a shot of the River Thames near the Tower Bridge. The TARDIS materializes nearby and then we cut to a glimpse of Yasmin Finney's character, another mystery named Rose.

As we see a strange, spherical space pod on Earth, Donna provides a voiceover, saying "Sometimes I think there's something missing. Like I had something lovely...and it's gone." Donna's mother, Sylvia Noble (Jacqueline King), looks extremely concerned about this, knowing that she must never mention the Doctor to her as that might trigger her memory of events and cause her mind to "burn up", killing her, as shown in the events of the episode "Journey's End".

The Fourteenth Doctor says in a voiceover, "I don't know who I am anymore" as we then hear Neil Patrick Harris' unnamed character say in a German accent, "The show is just beginning! Worldwide premiere!"

Next, we see Rose ask a furry alien creature who appears to be Doctor Who comics character Beep the Meep, "Who are they?" Beep replies, "Monsters!"

The monsters Beep refers to are then shown, appearing to be Wrarth Warriors from the same comics storyline, "Doctor Who and the Star Beast", from Doctor Who Magazine #19 through #26 and reprinted in Marvel Comics' 1984 series Doctor Who (vol.1) #1 and #2.

We hear the Fourteenth Doctor say in another voiceover, "I don't believe in destiny, but if destiny exists, then it is heading for Donna Noble." Later, in a separate scene, he says, "If she ever remembers me, she will die."

Of course, Donna spots the Fourteenth Doctor in another scene, calling him "Skinny Man!" as Rose looks on. Sylvia tries to block the Doctor from Donna's view, telling Donna, "He's not there! You can't see him!"

This is followed by fleeting glimpses of the Wrarth Warriors attacking, the Fourteenth Doctor getting into a car while saying Tenth Doctor catchphrase "Allons-y!", Neil Patrick Harris' character excitedly throwing red rose petals at the camera, Ruth Madeley's character Shirley Anne Bingham, and finally, the previous teaser footage of Ncuti Gatwa's incoming Fifteenth Doctor saying, "Will someone tell me what the hell is going on here?!"

If you'd like to see the new trailer, you can check it out below thanks to the official Doctor Who YouTube channel...

Doctor Who is scheduled to return for three 60th Anniversary Specials sometime in November 2023.

TITANTALK 083: "Nostalgia Patrol" Is Up!

"All of my life, I have felt like a fraud. All of my life, I have been the imposter masquerading as Rita Farr. But one day, you crazy bunch of misfits, who are just like me, came into my life. I say, ‘Fuck Niles Caulder,’ for most things, but not this. He gave me you, my family. I know you don’t think we deserve anything but one thing I know we do deserve is the love that we have for each other. Well, had. Before the Butts screwed us up and that weird testicle monster thing, but the point is, you accept me, the real me, whether I blob or triumph, you are always the place that I return to. You are my home."

"Why do you get to pick the codenames? Because they suck."
"When you spend days researching and plotting missions while getting paper cuts and inky fingers, you can choose the codenames, okay? Until then, you’re Robotman, Dr. Harrison is Crazy Jane, Larry is Negative Man, Vic is Cyborg, and Rouge, you’re Dogshit McGivens."
