Hello again, everyone!  My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with a new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast! This time, we're joined by special guest companion Dave Proctor to discuss "Kinda", the third serial from Doctor Who Season 19 in 1982, featuring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Janet Fielding as Tegan Jovanka, Matthew Waterhouse as Adric, and the first appearance of the Mara!

In this episode, Jesse, Dave and I discuss things like Dave's recent vacation in Myrtle Beach, Jesse's co-workers calling in with COVID, a special appearance by Dave's dog Kelly Lou, my new kittens Desire and Delirium, the "Kinda" sequel "Snakedance", director Peter Grimwade directing Adric's first and last story, my appreciating "Kinda" more after watching Twin Peaks, Elementary's Jonny Lee Miller appearing in "Kinda" as a fruit-bearing child, why Nyssa was written out of most of the story, "Kinda" being based on Buddhist concepts and containing references to the Garden of Eden in The Bible, John Nathan-Turner disapproving of the original final scene where Sanders and Hindle link arms and walking into the forest holding a flower, the Colonizers trying to settle on Deva Loka, Adric pretending to go along with Hindle, teenagers generally being written poorly in science fiction, wondering why the Colonizers used the Total Survival Suit to travel across Deva Loka instead of just walking outside their dome and meeting the Kinda, the cliffhanger of the Doctor opening the Box of Jhana, Sanders' complete personality flip after opening the Box of Jhana, the great use of lighting in the sequence where Tegan's mind is trapped in the Dark Place of the Inside, the original depiction of the Mara as a giant rubber snake and the much better alternate CGI version, Panna vs. Yoda, Panna being sexist toward men, wondering if Steven Moffat swiped the Weeping Angels resolution in "Blink" from the Mara resolution in "Kinda", our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Holly Mac, our new Twitter handle, DJ Nik and I discussing Titans Season 3 on TitanTalk: The Titans Podcast, and more!
