AGENT OF S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Clark Gregg REALLY Wants to Meet IRON FIST

So, does this mean Coulson collects Iron Fist trading cards as well?

Comic Book Resources has word that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg really wants to meet the immortal Iron Fist.  So much so, he made Marvel's TV head promise that it's going to happen.

CBR spoke with Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb during a red carpet interview at the premiere of Daredevil season two in New York City, where Loeb revealed that Gregg put in a request when for the upcoming 13-episode Netflix series Iron Fist.

"Before I get done, I have to make sure that Clark Gregg and Iron Fist get together," said Loeb.  "I’m not saying Agent Coulson.  Clark Gregg has actually made me promise that he gets to meet Iron Fist.  He’s a gigantic Iron Fist fan."

The news follows on the recent casting of Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, but as Loeb stated, there's no indication (yet) that Gregg would be playing his Marvel Cinematic Universe character Phil Coulson on the Netflix series.

In an interview back in 2014, Gregg stated his desire to meet the Marvel martial arts superhero, remarking "I’d be really disappointed if I don’t get to show up in New York for Daredevil or Iron Fist, which was a huge favorite of mine in comic books as a kid.  I’ve had more than my share so I shouldn’t be greedy but it would be a huge geekout moment for me if I got to meet Daniel Rand."

Loeb also spoke on linking the various Marvel Netflix series, saying "The thing that’s most important is that you don’t ever want it to feel like as you’re telling the story, [the viewer thinks] 'I don’t know what’s going on, I had to have seen something else in order to make sure of this.'  We try to tell each story so that they are standalone but, at the same token, look -- it’s a lot like comics.  Everybody’s comic is their first, so you want to be able to tell that story."

Iron Fist is expected to air on Netflix sometime in 2017.

New CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Trailer Debuts Spider-Man

Captain America: Civil War just got a lot more amazing...

Marvel has released the second trailer for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Captain America: Civil War starring Chris Evans and Robert Downey, Jr.  And at long last, we have our first official look at Tom Holland as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!

This second two-minute, twenty-five second trailer opens with the cell containing The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) being opened as his best friend comes to visit.  

"This job," begins Steve Rogers/Captain America in a voiceover.  "You try to save as many people as you can.  Sometimes that doesn't mean everybody.  But you don't give up."

We cut to a meeting presentation with recorded video of destruction from previous MCU films The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron.  "New York...Washington, D.C....Sokovia," begins Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (William Hurt).  When Steve says "Okay, that's enough," Ross replies, "Captain, people are afraid."

We see T'Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) caught in the destruction of another building as Tony Stark/Iron Man remarks, "That's why I'm here.  We need to be put in check. Whatever form that takes, I'm game."

"I'm sorry, Tony," Steve counters. "If I see a situation pointed south, I can't ignore it. Sometimes I wish I could."

"Sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect teeth," replies Tony bitterly.

"I know we're not perfect," remarks Steve as we see the Winter Soldier being chased down by the Black Panther, "but the safest hands are still our own."

Next, we see Tony facing off against the Winter Soldier and someone shooting War Machine (Don Cheadle) out of the sky.  Iron Man removes War Machine's faceplate and we hear Tony say "I was wrong about you.  The whole world was wrong about you."

Tony tries to warn Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) "They're coming for you."

"I'm not the one that needs to watch their back," she replies.

"This doesn't have to end in a fight, Tony," says Captain America.

Iron Man backhands Captain America and tells him "You just started a war!"

We see fleeting images of Black Panther vs. the Winter Soldier, the Scarlet Witch vs. The Vision, Hawkeye vs. Ant-Man, and Captain America vs. Crossbones (Frank Grillo).

"Stay down, final warning," remarks Iron Man as he aims his hand repulsor at Captain America.

Captain America, breathless and bleeding, responds "I could do this all day" before the two begin fighting.  

Both sides of heroes engage one another in battle, until Iron Man removes his helmet, sporting a black eye, and says "All right, I've run out of patience.  Underoos!"

All at once, a familiar patch of webbing comes down from above and snatches Captain America's shield while webbing his hands as handcuffs.

Spider-Man flips in mid-air into view, brandishing Cap's shield.  "Hey, everyone," says the wall-crawler.

SUPERGIRL/THE FLASH Crossover Plot Synopsis & Promo Art Revealed

Who is the fastest person alive?  Okay, it's The Flash, but still...

The official plot synopsis for "Worlds Finest," the upcoming episode of Supergirl featuring Grant Gustin as The Flash, has been released by CBS.  It confirms that the two DC Comics superheroes are indeed from separate fictional TV universes and will face off against the Supergirl villains Silver Banshee (Italia Ricci) and Livewire (Brit Morgan).  Here's the synopsis...

“Worlds Finest” – Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash (Grant Gustin) suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, March 28 (8:00-9:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network. Grant Gustin crosses over as The Flash.

In addition, CBS also released a new piece of promo art for the episode, an homage of the cover to Superman (vol.1) #199 from 1967 by Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson, featuring "Superman's Race with the Flash!" 

In the actual story by Jim Shooter and Curt Swan, Superman and The Flash agree to a race around the world to benefit the United Nations.  However, two rival gambling syndicates set traps for the hero they have individually bet against.

There is no indication so far that a Supergirl/Flash race will take place in "Worlds Finest."

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS, with "Worlds Finest" scheduled for March 28th.

Bran Stark Returns in GAME OF THRONES Season 6 Red Band Trailer

At long last, winter is coming...back.

HBO debuted the long-awaited trailer for Game of Thrones Season 6, based on the popular fantasy saga "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin.  Season 6 promises to adapt material from Martin's upcoming sixth novel, The Winds of Winter, along with some elements from the fourth, A Feast for Crows, and the fifth, A Dance with Dragons.

The one minute, forty second trailer opens at Castle Black, showing us the lifeless body of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), who was murdered by the men of the Night's Watch at the end of Season 5.  A male voice tries to convince us that "He's gone."

As a cover of the Chris Isaak song "Wicked Game" by James Vincent McMorrow begins to play, we see Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) returning home to King's Landing to tell his sister Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) that their daughter Myrcella Baratheon is dead.

"We're the only ones who matter," Jaime reassures her, "and everything they've taken from us, we're going to take back and more."

We then see the red priestess, Melisandre (Carice van Houten) having a crisis of faith.  "The great victory I saw in the flames," she says to Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham), "all of it was a lie."

Next, we see Ser Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) on the hunt for Daenerys Targaryean (Emilia Clarke), now a prisoner of a huge Dothraki tribe.

"Every one of us is poor and powerless," says The High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce), "yet we can overthrow an empire."

"You're in the great game now," remarks Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), "and the great game is terrifying."

We see a confrontation between Lancel Lannister (Eugene Simon) and his cousin Cersei, who is accompanied by the resurrected The Mountain.  "Order your man to step aside of there will be violence," Lancel says to Cersei.

"I choose violence," Cersei replies defiantly.

Next, we see a number of fleeting images, including a Targaryen knight with two swords fighting Stark soldiers in a desert that hints at the Tower of Joy showdown and perhaps the resurrection of Jon Snow. 

The most intriguing image, however, is the return of Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), last seen at the end of Season 4, who appears to be standing as he faces off against the Night's King.

This time, it's Davos who gets the final teasing line, remarking "I've never been much of a fighter.  Apologies for what you're about to see."

JUSTICE LEAGUE Casts J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon

Gotham City has another protector.

The Hollywood Reporter has details that the upcoming Zack Snyder film adaptation of DC Comics' Justice League has cast J.K. Simmons as James Gordon, the police commissioner of Gotham City and Batman's closest ally against crime.

Justice League: Part One, which begins shooting in mid-April, features Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) teaming up to combat a threat beyond each member's capabilities.  Chris Terrio wrote the screenplay for Justice League, which will be released in two parts by Warner Bros.  The film will be produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder.

Simmons, 61, is best known as J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man film trilogy directed by Sam Raimi.  He's also known as Dr. Emil Skoda on the NBC series Law & Order, Vernon Schillinger on the HBO series Oz, and has appeared in the films Zootopia, Kung Fu Panda 3, Terminator: Genisys, Megamind, Juno, Hidalgo, and The Cider House Rules.  

Created in 1939 by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, Commissioner Gordon first appeared in Detective Comics (vol.1) #27, which also featured the first appearance of Batman. Gordon was introduced as the Police Commissioner of Gotham City, who shares Batman's deep commitment to ridding the city of crime.  Although often skeptical of Batman's vigilante methods, Gordon believes that Gotham needs him.

In the 1987 story "Batman: Year One," writer Frank Miller and artist David Mazzuccheli revealed that Gordon transferred back to Gotham City after spending more than fifteen years in Chicago.  A man of integrity, Gordon discovered that Batman was his only ally against the mob-controlled administration.  He was a special forces veteran capable in hand-to-hand combat and retaliated against an intimidation attempt by corrupt fellow officers with equal violence.  Gordon ended up having an extramarital affair with a fellow detective, Sarah Essen, but he broke off their affair after being blackmailed by the corrupt Police Commissioner, Gillian B. Loeb.  Mob boss Carmine Falcone sent his nephew, Johnny Viti, to abduct Gordon's family.  Batman saved them, however, and helped Gordon expose Loeb's corruption.  After Loeb resigned, Gordon was promoted to Captain.

As the years passed, Gordon quickly rose to the rank of Commissioner after he and Batman weeded out corruption within the department.  After the death of his brother and sister-in-law, he adopted his niece, Barbara.  Gordon divorced his wife Barbara, who returned to Chicago with their son James, while he retained custody of Barbara, who eventually became Batgirl.  Gordon soon deduced his daughter was Batgirl, but would not confront her about it again, until years later.

Simmons will be the fifth actor to portray James Gordon in live action, after Neil Hamilton in the '60s television series Batman, Pat Hingle in the Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher films, Gary Oldman in the most recent Christopher Nolan trilogy, and Ben McKenzie on the Fox series Gotham.

Justice League: Part One is slated for release on November 17, 2017, while Part Two will arrive in theaters on June 14, 2019.
