"Whatever you do...don't fall asleep."
-- Nancy Thompson to Glen Lantz, A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Hello again, movie fans! My wonderful co-host Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Drunk Cinema! This time, we watch A Nightmare on Elm Street, the 1984 supernatural slasher film written and directed by Wes Craven, introducing Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger and Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson, and featuring Johnny Depp as Glen Lantz and John Saxon as Lt. Don Thompson!
This time, Xan and I discuss things like Xan taking a break from the Nightmares Film Festival, the greatness of Doug Jones, the 1982 Swamp Thing movie with Ray Wise, Xan preferring Freddy Krueger over Michael Myers, the remake making Freddy a child molester, how Freddy could go to space, Xan meeting Heather Langenkamp, Robert Englund as Willie in V and V: The Final Battle, John Saxon in Enter the Dragon, the disappointing final episode of the original Quantum Leap, A Nightmare on Elm Street being New Line Cinema's first commercial success and making New Line "The House That Freddy Built", sleeping in study hall, Freddy having to use his knives because he made them, Nancy's relaxing bubble bath, Xan going to a sleep clinic, frosted vodka bottles, Nancy's mom keeping Freddy's glove secret for years, BOB from Twin Peaks being in Freddy's boiler room, new Drunk Mail from Christine Peruski, both of us liking that we have four seasons in Ohio, paying tribute to one of my mom's all-time favorite movies, and more!

Be sure to come back in one month as Xan and I celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Drunk Cinema as we watch Smokey and the Bandit, the 1977 action comedy road film directed by Hal Needham, introducing Burt Reynolds as Bo "The Bandit" Darville, Sally Field as Carrie "Frog", Jerry Reed as Cledus "The Snowman" Snow, and Jackie Gleason as Sheriff Buford T. Justice!
