NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 299: "The Day of the Doctor: Revisited" Is Up!

"You know the sound the TARDIS makes? That wheezing, groaning? That sound brings hope wherever it goes."
"Yes. Yes, I like to think it does."
"To anyone who hears it, Doctor. Anyone, however lost. Even you."

THE FANDOM ZONE 279: "Breaking Brad" Is Up!

"Stop trying to be a hero, man! You're a villain. You're good at it. Do that."
"Thank you, Brad...very much. I really am touched. You know, you're right. I have done some terrible, awful things. Yeah, maybe that is who I am, and who knows? It's the real me. A loser. Always have been, always will be. And perhaps I've been...holding something back. Perhaps I've just been biding my time. Perhaps I've just been waiting for a moment like this, so I can do terrible, awful things to you."
-- Brad Wolfe and Loki Laufeyson, Loki -- "Breaking Brad"

Hello again, everyone! We're back for another new episode of The Fandom Zone Podcast!  This time, DJ Nik and I discuss "Breaking Brad", the second episode of Loki Season 2, featuring Tom Hiddleston as Loki Laufeyson, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, and Rafael Casal as Hunter X-5/Brad Wolfe!

In this episode, DJ Nik and I talk about things like expressing our sympathies to those affected by the recent Hamas massacre, being initially thrown by the disjointed opening and wondering if we missed an episode since last week, Casey geeking out with Ouroboros, our love of the Loki theme music, some comics background on Zaniac and Brad Wolfe, the Easter Egg posters at the Leopold Theater, the Phone Ranger, Loki becoming very comfortable working for the TVA, Brad being an abusive douchenozzle, Loki and Mobius having slices of key lime pie that isn't supposed to be green, the great reminder that Loki still has darker, villainous tendencies, the great interrogation scene of Loki and Brad, wondering whether Loki enjoyed torturing Brad or not, the possibility that Mobius could be from Florida, Loki and Mobius failing miserably at using the TVA Handbook, our plea for sponsorship from McDonald's, Loki and Sylvie's reunion since the season finale of Season 1, General Dox pruning all the branched timelines, Sylvie being a nomad by nature, Loki and Sylvie both deciding if they have to be what people expect them to be, our favorite quotes of the episode, both of us looking forward to The Marvels, and more!

THE FANDOM ZONE 278: "Ouroboros" Is Up!

"You heard about how if you fall into a black hole, you turn into spaghetti?"
"No."
"Good. The less you know about that, the better."
-- Ouroboros/O.B. and Loki Laufeyson, Loki -- "Ouroboros"

Hello again, everyone! We're back for another new episode of The Fandom Zone Podcast!  This time, DJ Nik and I discuss "Ouroboros", the first episode of Loki Season 2, featuring Tom Hiddleston as Loki Laufeyson, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, and introducing Ke Huy Quan as Ouroboros/O.B.!

In this episode, DJ Nik and I talk about things like the recent passing of my Mom, talking Loki again after over fifty episodes of The Fandom Zone, this Loki episode feeling a lot like a Doctor Who episode, what the word "ouroboros" means and how it connects to the concept of time, the Easter Egg of Casey listening to the "Staying Awake" podcast from Moon Knight, some comics background on Broxton, Oklahoma, the poor girl in the elevator horrified by Loki's Time Slipping, getting a tease of future events, the transformation of Loki into a protagonist you root for from an antagonistic villain, Mobius having some "skin" in the game, Mobius probably getting to use a jet ski at some point, Mobius putting so much faith in Loki, my love for the retro decor of the Time Variance Authority, why Miss Minutes should hook up with Mr. DNA from Jurassic Park, my being a fan of Ke Huy Quan as Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and as Data in The Goonies, Ke Huy Quan hitting it out of the park in his debut as O.B., the Bill & Ted moment of Present O.B. pulling out out a Temporal Aura Extractor he just invented as Past O.B., the very suspicious flickering lights in the TVA, being grateful that Ouroboros isn't just a "socially awkward nerd" stereotype, Liz Carr as Saraqael in Good Omens 2, Hunter B-15 being vehemently opposed to pruning timelines, nobody paying attention to the Sleeping Judge, wondering if Hunter X-5 is General Dox's son, Sylvie wanting a life as a worker in the McDonald's in 1982 Broxton, our favorite quotes of the episode, and more!

In this episode, Jesse, Holly and I discuss things like our podcast going anywhere and everywhere, building some excitement for the upcoming 60th anniversary of Doctor Who, "The Name of the Doctor" being the end of Clara's "The Impossible Girl" storyline and the last appearance of River Song according to her timeline, the surprise debut of Sir John Hurt as the War Doctor, finally getting a new trailer for the 60th Anniversary specials, Neil Patrick Harris being confirmed as the Toymaker, Jemma Redgrave returning as Kate Stewart, wondering how Avengers Tower was moved to London to become UNIT's new headquarters, Richard E. Grant as the almost Ninth Doctor in Doctor Who: Scream of the Shalka and the conceited Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who: The Curse of Fatal Death, "The Name of the Doctor" featuring the First Doctor prior to stealing the TARDIS, my explanation for how Susan invented the acronym TARDIS, the Eleventh Doctor going to Trenzalore to save the Paternoster Gang from the Great Intelligence, Steven Moffat trying too hard to be clever with some of his scripts, the horrible 1998 Lost in Space movie, Clara realizing that the Doctor had more secrets that she thought, Sylvester McCoy's literal cliffhanger in "Dragonfire", our initial reactions to the War Doctor, how to explore more about the War Doctor, that awkward moment when River finds out that Clara is the Doctor's new companion, wanting to see more of the Strax Fight Club, Vastra killing Strax after Jenny dies, Vastra outsmarting Clara with the drugged letter, River's final conversation with the Eleventh Doctor, the Great Intelligence's brilliant plan to rewrite the Doctor's entire history...at the expense of the Great Intelligence's existence, wanting to see the Whisper Men again, the total cop out of having River whisper the Doctor's real name off camera, "Daleks" becoming a slur word, our favorite quotes of the story, my Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Sandi from Oregon and Dave Proctor, Holly having some technical issues, wanting everyone to keep Xan Sprouse in their thoughts, and more!

"Do you think that if you were falling in space...that you would slow down after a while, or go faster and faster?"
"Faster and faster. And for a long time you wouldn't feel anything. And then you'd burst into fire...forever. And the angels wouldn't help you."
