Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with a new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast! This time, we're joined by special guest Holly Mac to discuss "Boom Town", the eleventh episode from Doctor Who Series One in 2005, featuring Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor, Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, and the return of Annette Badland as Margaret Blaine!

In this episode, Jesse, Holly and I discuss things like Holly completing her trilogy of episodes, trying to understand some people's problem with "The Power of the Doctor" episode title, teasing a potential future episode with Rachel Frend, "Boom Town" being the last Christopher Eccleston TV episode we haven't covered, my sending in feedback to Jesse and Christine Peruski's Small Council Matters podcast, good writers being able to tell stories involving small moments as well as big moments, Holly being our expert in the area of Big Finish Torchwood audios, the original story "Pompeii" that would have featured Captain Jack discovering that Rose's life had been manipulated by the Doctor in an experiment to create the perfect companion, the night shoot of Rose and Mickey in front of the water tower at Roald Dahl Plass having to be extended because it was below the temperature at which the fountain automatically shuts off, the Ninth Doctor being faced with the decision to take Blon back to her home planet to be executed, Holly wanting a Tales from the Dinner Table episode, Blon trying to prey upon the Doctor's conscience, wondering if Blon will actually grow up again to be a better Slitheen, the Doctor casually preventing Blon's multiple attempts to kill him over dinner, the Ninth Doctor being like Peter Parker when he had the chance to stop the burglar that later killed his Uncle Ben, Rose finally getting some of the consequences of her snap decision to leave Mickey to go off and travel with the Ninth Doctor, Mickey finally telling Rose how frustrated he is that he still loves her, Rose stringing Mickey along, Mickey realizing that he's stuck in a endless cycle with Rose and deserves better, Captain Jack trying to call the shots instead of the Doctor, wondering why the TARDIS needs to be refueled by the Rift, Blon's plan that she tells the Doctor vs. her real plan, the Heart of the TARDIS regressing Blon into a Slitheen egg, our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Dave Proctor, Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen on House of the Dragon, watching the first three episodes of Andor, and more!
