DRUNK CINEMA 028: "Big Trouble in Little China" Is Up!

"When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that -- 'Have ya paid your dues, Jack?' 'Yes sir, the check is in the mail!'"
-- Jack Burton, Big Trouble in Little China

Hello again, movie fans!  My wonderful co-host Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Drunk Cinema! This time, we're joined by Christine Peruski as we watch Big Trouble in Little Chinathe 1986 martial arts action-comedy film directed by John Carpenter, featuring Kurt Russell as Jack Burton, Kim Cattrall as Gracie Law, Dennis Dun as Wang Chi, and James Hong as David Lo Pan!

In this episode, Xan, Christine and I discuss things like crotch-pot cooking from Good Morning, Vietnam, why Christine wanted to talk Big Trouble in Little China, Xan knowing the Dinks from Spaceballs before knowing Jawas, the Simpsons line "Can't sleep, clown will eat me", Xan being Simpsonspedia, Crow T. Robot's Kim Cattrall song from Mystery Science Theater 3000, James Hong finally getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at the age of 93, Kate Burton being the daughter of Richard Burton, our love of the Tank Girl movie, Christine making the mistake of telling Xan and me that she has to drink whenever we make Ghostbusters references, the cameo from Deep Throat from X-Files, Kurt Russell wearing his costume from Used Cars, James Hong's career as The Asian Guy, young people today getting mullets on purpose, wondering why there was no Ramones song at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, what would happen if David Lo Pan had a dating app, Xan turning down Crispin Glover movies for other movies on Drunk Cinema, the cameo from the Ghostbusters' headquarters, The Blues Brothers being a legit musical, Wang being the hero and Jack Burton being the sidekick, Low Rent Chewbacca, Batman (1989) being our most downloaded episode, stealing the hubcaps off the cars outside the Gold Standard Theater, how Xan and I could've ended up calling our Ghostwood podcast "Next Stop Wendy's" instead, how Christine got into Star Wars, Xan needing to do her job pimping our podcast online, and more!
