NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 190: "The Chimes of Midnight" Is Up!

"Something’s wrong about this.  It all feels too calculated.  Too deliberate."
"Just as something deliberately shut us out."
"And now, just as deliberately, let us in and gives us roles to perform -- a pair of detectives trying to solve a Christmas murder.  I don’t like being given a role to play, Charley.  I prefer to find my own."
-- The Eighth Doctor and Charlotte "Charley" Pollard, Doctor Who: "The Chimes of Midnight"

Hello again, everyone!  My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with another new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast!  This time, we're joined by special guest companion Hannah Skorapa to discuss "The Chimes of Midnight", the 2002 Doctor Who audio drama from Big Finish Productions, featuring Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor, India Fisher as Charlotte "Charley" Pollard, Louise Rolfe as Edith Thompson, and Lennox Greaves as Mr. Shaughnessy/Edward Grove!

In this episode, Jesse, Hannah and I discuss things like wanting to see a filmed or animated version of "The Chimes of Midnight", my listening to the story back in 2002, my Eighth Doctor t-shirt, the Wilderness Years when Big Finish was the official continuation of Doctor Who after the 1996 TV movie, Jesse interviewing Paul McGann, the scene that got Hannah hooked on Big Finish, the Eighth Doctor and Charley having great chemistry, India Fisher's work outside of Big Finish, the temporal paradox of the Eighth Doctor rescuing Charley from dying in the R-101 crash in "Storm Warning", the Eighth Doctor and Charley changing Edith's life so she doesn't kill herself, people being jerks no matter the time period, Edward Grove being alive, Edward Grove being a bad mystery writer, running down the various murders, Edith being treated horribly by her co-workers, "The Chimes of Midnight" being the Big Finish Christmas Special, Hannah's idea for "The Chimes of Midnight" PC game, our favorite quotes of the story, Hannah's audition scream for being a Doctor Who companion, my Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Holly Mac, Hannah volunteering to join us next episode, and more!
