Jon Favreau Reveals His STAR WARS TV Series Is THE MANDALORIAN

Jon Favreau is looking to tell a story about a simple man trying to make his way in the universe.

Via his official Instagram account, writer, director and producer Jon Favreau has revealed that the title of his upcoming live-action Star Wars television series will be called The Mandalorian and will be set between the events of Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force AwakensThe series for Disney's upcoming streaming service was announced last March, but has been kept secret until now.

Favreau's post, which gives a nod to the famous Star Wars opening crawls, states "After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe.  The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.…”

Favreau, 51, is a longtime Star Wars fan, and voiced the alien Rio Durant in this summer's Solo: A Star Wars Story.  Previously, he voiced the Mandalorian warrior Pre Vizskla in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

When The Mandalorian was first announced, he remarked, "If you told me at 11 years old that I would be getting to tell stories in the Star Wars universe, I wouldn’t have believed you.  I can’t wait to embark upon this exciting adventure."
