DRUNK CINEMA 047: "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" Is Up!

"What is in the book, that miserable little diary of yours? We have the map, the book is useless, yet you come all the way back to Berlin to get it. Why? What are you hiding? What does the diary tell you that it doesn’t tell us?"
"It tells me that goose-stepping morons like yourself should try reading books instead of burning them."
-- Standartenführer Ernst Vogel & Dr. Henry Jones, Sr., Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Hello again, movie fans!  My wonderful co-host Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Drunk Cinema! This time, we watch Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the 1989 action-adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, Sean Connery as Henry Jones Sr., Denholm Elliot as Marcus Brody, and John Rhys-Davies as Sallah!

In this episode, Xan and I discuss things like Xan and I not being able to watch Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny right away, the few good things to come out of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., Xan's love of River Phoenix as Young Indiana Jones, my Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures 4-movie Blu-Ray set now being complete bullshit, River Phoenix's band Aleka's Attic, why Last Crusade has some personal sentimental value for me, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom going off-brand, Henry Jones Sr. being a single father at a time when men barely held their kids, Julian Glover appearing in two classic era Doctor Who serials, Xan and I both seeing R.E.M. during their Monster album tour, Last Crusade's only Academy Award win, why a strong orchestral theme is important for superhero films, feeling bad for Young Indy's sidekick, Young Indy getting great advice from the guy who beat him, Indy being the worst college professor ever, Dr. Elsa Schneider choosing poorly by betting on the Nazis, the irony of Indy and his father surviving a room fire inside a fireplace, Indy blaspheming in front of his father, our favorite Bond girls, the mania on Elsa's face as she reaches for the grail, the grail-shaped beacon from Castle Anthrax, new Drunk Mail from Dave Proctor, my upcoming sinus surgery, the Christopher Eccleston Doctor Who audio drama Monsters in Metropolis, and more!
