NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 291: "Four to Doomsday" Is Up!

"Yes, I promised to put Tegan on her plane."
"Her astral plane?"
"Yes, in a sense. They go from Heathrow Airport."
"This is not Heathrow Airport."
"No, not even the quarantine area."
-- The Fifth Doctor and Monarch, Doctor Who: "Four to Doomsday"

Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with a new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast! This time, we discuss "Four to Doomsday", the second serial from Doctor Who Season 19 in 1982, featuring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Janet Fielding as Tegan Jovanka, Matthew Waterhouse as Adric, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, and Stratford Johns as Monarch!

In this episode, Jesse and I discuss things like American Airlines already messing with Jesse's September flight to Columbus, a Next Stop News Flash about Bonnie Langford returning as Melanie Bush for Doctor Who Series 14, wondering if RTD is planning to use the episode with Mel's return as a backdoor pilot for a possible new The Melanie Bush Adventures spinoff series, Burt Kwouk as Cato Fong in the Pink Panther movies and his multiple James Bond film connections, "Four to Doomsday" being the first story produced for the Peter Davison era instead of "Castrovalva", Peter Davison saving Sarah Sutton from being written out as Nyssa after "Four to Doomsday", Matthew Waterhouse feeling that Adric siding with Monarch made no sense, Australian Janet Fielding requesting writer Terence Dudley consult the BBC's language department to rewrite an Aboriginal character's from gibberish to an actual Aboriginal language, Peter Davison taking over from Tom Baker being similar to Matt Smith taking over from David Tennant, Jesse preferring the Fifth Doctor's companions in their own separate storylines instead of together as a team, Tegan using the Type 40 TARDIS Manual to try and pilot the TARDIS back to Earth, Monarch taking advantage of Adric's gullibility to manipulate him, wondering why the TARDIS didn't translate the Aborigine's dialogue for everyone besides Tegan, Monarch being very similar to Donald Trump, the Doctor and Adric's brilliant idea to just rip out the circuit boards from Enlightenment and Persuasion and just throw them into space, the Doctor using a physics from a rebounding cricket ball to give himself enough thrust to reach the TARDIS in space, Adric pointing out that the Doctor is always in trouble, our favorite quotes of the story, my Reverse the Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Dave Proctor, Sandi from Oregon, and Holly Mac, our upcoming discussion of "Monsters in Metropolis", and more!
