THE FANDOM ZONE 257: "Collectors" Is Up!

"The child was conceived in The Dreaming. It is mine."
"What?"
"And one day, I will come for it."
-- Morpheus and Rose Walker, The Sandman -- "Collectors"

Hello again, everyone! It's time for another new episode of The Fandom Zone Podcast!  In this episode, DJ Nik and I discuss "Collectors", the ninth episode of The Sandman, featuring Boyd Holbrook as The Corinthian & Stephen Fry as Fiddler's Green, and "The Retreat", the seventh episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, featuring Tim Roth as The Abomination/Emil Blonsky!

In this episode, DJ Nik and I talk about things like the horrible state of comics journalism these days, Nik getting goosebumps from the Audible audio adaptation of "Collectors", my two main issues with the TV adaptation of "Collectors", why this episode should've been more like an episode of Mindhunter, some comics background on the real Bogeyman mentioned by the Corinthian, the character of Fun Land being a reference to the urban legend that a serial killer is secretly allowed to keep murdering children at Disneyland, the serial killer convention's film schedule from the comics, changes from The Sandman comics, Morpheus apologizing to Lucienne without really apologizing, Lucienne telling Morpheus that Rose Walker is responsible for the dreamquakes in the Dreaming, the very important sequence of Morpheus sending Hector to the afterlife and telling Lyta that he'll come for her baby one day, Gilbert calling out Rose for being happy for one whole minute before inventing new problems for herself, the great partnership of Rose and Gilbert, Fiddler's Green giving up his life as Gilbert to warn Morpheus of the Corinthian being an immediate threat to Rose, Jed being disappointed that there's no cereal at a "cereal" convention, the Corinthian threatening Fun Land for making a move on Jed, why it's good that Jed wasn't locked in the trunk of the Corinthian's car like he was in the comics, the terrible creative decision to have a bright and upbeat tone for most of the episode, the decision to have the Corinthian kill Fun Land, our favorite Sandman quotes, the big letdown of Josh being revealed as a member of the Intelligencia, Daredevil being the new Mephisto, some comics background on Man-Bull, El Aguila, Saracen, and Porcupine, wondering if Saracen is the son of Blade, Jen waiting until the third date to have sex with Josh, wondering what happened to Emil Blonsky's harem, Jen needing to have her GPS on audio instead of looking at the screen while she's driving, Taika Waititi not directing the next Thor movie, Jen pointing out to the Wrecker that being one of four guys attacking a woman makes you a supervillain, Jen's breakthrough of finally opening up to the support group, wondering how Josh took Jen's blood without waking her up, our favorite She-Hulk: Attorney at Law quotes, new Fandom Zone Fanmail from Holly Mac and Jesse Jackson, my discussing the movie From Hell on Ghostwood: The Twin Peaks Podcast, and more!
