GHOSTWOOD 098: "Getting Rid of Robert" Is Up!

"You're not a nice person, you're a bitch.  You got it?  You want me to spell it out for you?  You're. Not. Nice.  You're a bitch.  B as in, as in Bad, I as in Egomaniac, T as in Terrorist, and C as in..."
-- Robert Neil to Sasha, Hotel Room: "Getting Rid of Robert"

It is happening again...My co-host with the most Xan Sprouse and I are finally back with a new episode of Ghostwood: The Twin Peaks Podcast!  In this episode, we discuss "Getting Rid of Robert", the second episode of David Lynch's HBO drama anthology series Hotel Room from 1993, featuring Griffin Dunne as Robert Neil, Deborah Unger as Sasha, Mariska Hargitay as Tina, and Chelsea Field as Diane!

LET'S ROCK!

In this episode, Xan and I discuss things like Xan's Twin Peaks meme of a seal looking like Laura Palmer doing cocaine, my having delayed reactions to COVID vaccine shots, '90s TV episodes being turned into 2-hour "movies" on VHS home video, David Lynch doing better with Showtime than HBO, writer Jay McInerney writing what he knows, Sasha, Tina and Diane being very superficial friends, Sasha telling Tina she needs to hurry up and land a rich guy before she loses her looks, David Cronenberg's Crash and car wreck porn, Mariska Hargitay being the daughter of Jayne Mansfield, Tina bringing Sasha a copy of Sexual Personae: Art and Decadence from Nefertiti to Emily Dickinson by controversial feminist writer Camille Paglia, Sasha wanting to kick Robert to the curb but then being desperate when he breaks up with her first, conveniently forgotten American brass fireplace pokers, Sasha being jealous that Tina was flirting with Robert, Griffin Dunne in After Hours, An American Werewolf in London and Johnny Dangerously, that awkward moment when the Maid walks in on Sasha after she whacked Robert with a fire poker, the movie I Love You to Death, needing to be very careful of when it's appropriate to use the C word, my appreciating women who know how to swear emphatically, the F word being the most versatile word in the English language, our parents never listening to our podcasts, Xan being cool with her mom listening to her drunk on Drunk Cinema, my wife Lori joining me on Next Stop Everywhere, not being able to crush on Alicia Witt in Twin Peaks: The Return, Ghostwood getting followed on Twitter by the official Double R Diner/Twede's Cafe, and more!
