NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 319: "The Legend of Ruby Sunday" Is Up!

"I sent him forward."
"That thing killed him, not you."
"What was it? And Ruby's mother -- Why was she pointing at me?"
"Finished? Now stop grizzling and fix it. Because if Susan is your granddaughter, then she might be the key to this. Now come on."
-- Melanie Bush and the Fifteenth Doctor, Doctor Who: "The Legend of Ruby Sunday"

Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with a new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast! This timewe discuss "The Legend of Ruby Sunday", the seventh episode of Doctor Who Series 14, featuring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor, Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, and the return of Bonnie Langford as Melanie Bush and Gabriel Woolf as the voice of Sutekh!

In this episode, Jesse and I discuss things like going through the new season so quickly, "The Legend of Ruby Sunday" sounding like a Western, our discussion of "Pyramids of Mars" from the early days of Next Stop Everywhere, Sutekh being on my short list of Big Bads who might return, the "Sue Tech" anagram being a bit of a stretch from "S Triad Technologies", some background on the Egyptian god Sutekh, the new members of the Pantheon of Discord, Susan Foreman appearing in "The Five Doctors" and meeting the Eighth Doctor in Big Finish audios, Susan Triad's weird dance being a reference to former UK Prime Minister Theresa May, Lenny Rush originally being cast as Eric in "Space Babies", Gabriel Woolf being the only Classic Era actor to reprise the role of a villain in the Modern Era, the Doctor wanting UNIT's help with two mysteries, Kate learning that the Doctor has a granddaughter, UNIT having a old VHS player ready to play Ruby's CCTV videotape, Mrs. Flood coldly denying Cherry a cup of tea, more Mrs. Flood theories, the Doctor laughing at UNIT's time window, the Fifteenth Doctor wearing a costume similar to one I've always wanted for the Doctor, Mel telling the Doctor to stop moping and fix things, the TARDIS groaning and becoming something to be afraid of, wondering why Sutekh's name was appearing over and over on a computer display, calling our predictions before "Empire of Death", our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Polarity segment, new listener feedback from Sandi from Oregon and Holly Mac, Jesse enjoying the House of the Dragon Season 2 premiere, DJ Nik and Holly Mac joining us for the season finale, and more!
