NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 308: "New Earth" Is Up!

"We shall meet again, Doctor, for the third time, for the last time, and the truth shall be told. Until that day..."
"Oh, that is enigmatic. That is...That is textbook enigmatic."
-- The Face of Boe and the Tenth Doctor, Doctor Who: "New Earth"

Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with a new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast! This timewe discuss "New Earth", the first episode from Doctor Who Series Two in 2006, featuring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, and the return of Zoë Wanamaker as Lady Cassandra!

In this episode, Jesse and I discuss things like Jesse not remembering watching "New Earth" before, David Tennant hosting the BAFTAs, Zoë Wanamaker as Madame Hooch in the first Harry Potter movie, Adjoa Andoh as Martha Jones' mother Francine Jones, Russell T Davies writing "New Earth" because Billie Piper wanted to do comedy, Billie Piper not being aware that she would be showered with water in the lift, RTD delaying the Face of Boe's message until "Gridlock" in Series Three, "New Earth" being the first use of the Tenth Doctor's catchphrase "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry", the scene abandoned by high winds and rain, Rose gushing over having the Tenth Doctor all to herself, the first hint of the Time Lord Victorious, David Tennant finding his Doctor right from the start, Rose in Series Two compared to Series One, whether the Doctor should have a romantic interest or not, Cassandra attempting a Cockney accent, the Doctor's handwave solution to quickly cure the horde of infected patients, Cassandra's unexpected return after exploding in "The End of the World", wondering why Cassandra chose to die in Chip's body instead of jumping to another body, wondering why the Doctor and Rose gave Cassandra a happy ending before she died after all the people she killed in "The End of the World", the Sisters of Plentitude experimenting on hundreds of people to find cures for supposedly incurable diseases, the great makeup for the Sisters of Plentitude, the return of the Face of Boe, both of us not wanting to believe that Captain Jack Harkness becomes the Face of Boe at some point, our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Dave Proctor, Holly Mac and Sandi from Oregon, where you can watch "The Evil of the Daleks" before our next discussion, and more!
