DRUNK CINEMA 049: "Blade Runner: The Final Cut" Is Up!

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time...like tears in rain. Time to die."
-- Roy Batty to Rick Deckard, Blade Runner

Hello again, movie fans!  My wonderful co-host Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Drunk Cinema! This time, we watch The Final Cut version of Blade Runnerthe 1982 science fiction noir film directed by Ridley Scott, starring Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, Rutger Hauer as Roy Batty, Sean Young as Rachael, and Daryl Hannah as Pris Stratton!

In this episode, Xan and I discuss things like Xan getting herself a new ride, the actual 2019 being a letdown compared to the fictional 2019 in Blade Runner, why we're watching the Final Cut version instead of the original theatrical cut, the before and after stages of Tom Hanks' career, Harrison Ford not wanting to do the original narration, Sean Young's role in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective not aging well, Edward James Olmos as Admiral Adama on the 2003 Battlestar Galactica, M. Emmet Walsh as Barry Allen's dad in The Flash (1990), Blade Runner being ahead of its time for movie audiences, Rick Deckard ordered Tsingtao, the opening of burning industrial gas, my seeing Blade Runner in the theater at the age of 13, Xan knowing Blade Runner better than Joe Turkel, being able to own your own building in 2019 Los Angeles, strippers wearing Jason Vorhees hockey masks, Zhora needing to run in serpentine fashion, Harrison Ford recreating the "I Want a New Drug" video, why Eldon Tyrell never left Earth, Pris inspiring Harley Quinn's original look, Deckard needing to climb with his good hand, the bird waiting for Roy to release him from his hands, new Facebook comments from Christine Peruski, Xan not wanting to get drunk and watch an A24 movie, our upcoming 50th episode watching the cult classic The Wicker Manand more!
