TITANTALK 091: "Titans Forever" Is Up!

"On Christmas morning, people are all about the presents, right? The instant gratification. But Christmas Eve is all about the hope, the excitement, the anticipation, because all the good things are still in the future, yet to come."
-- Garfield Logan, Titans: "Titans Forever"

Hello again, Titans fans! DJ Nik and I are back with a new episode of TitanTalk: The Titans Podcast! This time, we discuss "Titans Forever", the series finale of Titansfeaturing Brenton Thwaites as Nightwing, Anna Diop as Starfire, Joseph Morgan as Brother Blood, and Craig Burnatowski as the voice of Trigon!

In this episode, we discuss things like Nik's sports segment, why this won't be the final episode of TitanTalk, whether the Titans finale was a satisfying ending to the show, only getting Superman's boots in the quick cameo, our thanks that we finally got to see a Trigon that was more than a human dude in a suit, how quickly and easily Brother Blood was able to kill Trigon, Trigon probably being killed off quickly because of the lack of production budget, Richard Hatem not being creative enough to overcome Titans' small production budget, wondering why the hell S.T.A.R. Labs was going to give Superman a Red Kryptonite cocktail in case he was severely injured, Dick knowing about the Icarus Gate but never mentioning it to any of the other Titans before this episode, Brother Blood somehow finding a bunch of hired goons off-camera, wondering what makes Starfire special if every Tamaranean has the ability to generate the equivalent of 10,000 suns, wondering where the hell Brother Blood was going to live if he destroyed both Earth and Tamaran, hoping Richard Hatem doesn't write for any other shows we care about, wanting a behind-the-scenes documentary of how Titans was made, Gar having to pull out four big cables instead of one to disable the targeting system, wondering why Beast Boy didn't turn into a gorilla for extra strength to pull out the four cables, Krypto being the MVP of the finale, Nightwing wanting to use the Icarus Gate to send Brother Blood to the other side of the universe, Kory's big almost-sacrifice to take Brother Blood off the board, the inexplicable Christmas flashback for an episode airing in May, not getting any explanation for how Starfire survived the explosion that killed Brother Blood, not getting any truly emotional scenes in the finale, hoping James Gunn someday gives Titans fans a better adaptation in live-action, the Titans' farewell dinner, Rachel wanting to spend time with more normal people, wondering when Conner and Superman made plans to hang out in Metropolis, wondering why the last thing we see in the show is Superboy flying, wondering if the writers suddenly aborted the "Lex Luthor is still alive inside Conner's body" plan because the show was cancelled, this Titans series being summed up as wasted potential, the Titans series showing us what not to do with the Titans characters, why the next live-action adaptation of the Titans needs to have a lighter tone, Wonder Girl not appearing in the entire final season, our favorite quotes of the episode, my recent discussion of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King on Gold Standard: The Oscars Podcast, Nik and I returning to The Fandom Zone Podcast while we wait for the rest of Doom Patrol Season 4, our thanks to all of the Titans fans all over the world, and more!
