NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 278: "Time-Flight" Is Up!

"Definitely Jurassic. There's a nip in the air, though...We can't be far off the Pleistocene Era."
"The Ice Age?"
"It's times like this I wish I still had my scarf."
-- The Fifth Doctor and Tegan Jovanka, Doctor Who: "Time-Flight"

Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with a new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast! This time, we discuss the announcement of Millie Gibson as Series 14 companion Ruby Sunday, along with "Time-Flight", the seventh serial from Doctor Who Season 19 in 1982, featuring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Janet Fielding as Tegan Jovanka, and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa!

In this episode, Jesse and I discuss things like Jesse eating Whataburger, Millie Gibson being announced as upcoming Series 14 companion Ruby Sunday, fans being too hard on "Time-Flight", Kalid being a borderline racist disguise, Tegan's departure at the end of "Time-Flight" not being intended to be permanent, Anthony Ainley's latest anagram casting, why Adric appears as an illusion after his death in "Earthshock", "Time-Flight" being Peter Davison's biggest disappointment , Anthony Ainley's double almost choking to death on green fluid, wondering why the Master wore his Kalid disguise when no one was around, script editor Eric Saward wanting to killing off the Master, British Airways asking for changes to the script that could be detrimental to the company, the TARDIS crew dealing with Adric's death, Jesse's timely Bonanza reference, wondering why there wasn't a TARDIS replica at Heathrow Airport, wondering how much time has passed on Earth between "Logopolis" and "Time-Flight", wondering why Tegan wore her flight attendant uniform throughout Davison's entire first season, Tegan turning on her flight attendant spiel for the hypnotized passengers, that awkward moment when Tegan gets left behind after she went off to wander around Heathrow airport without telling anyone, the Fifth Doctor making cricket references, the technical plausibility of using equipment from the first Concorde to repair the second one for takeoff, Professor Hayter being skeptical that he's in the prehistoric past, the Third Master really enjoying dressing up in disguises, the Doctor's negotiations with the Master to get the hypnotized passengers and stolen bits of his TARDIS back, the Xeraphin gestalt having a split personality, our favorite quotes of the story, my Reverse the Reverse the Polarity segment, feedback from Sandi from Oregon and Holly Mac, my signing up for Hive Social, Christine Peruski joining us for "Voyage of the Damned", and more!
