NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 268: "The King's Demons" Is Up!

"He is said to be the best swordsman in France."
"Well, fortunately, we are in England."
-- Ranulf Fitzwilliam and the Fifth Doctor, Doctor Who: "The King's Demons"

Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with a new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast! This time, we discuss "The King's Demons", the sixth serial from Doctor Who Season 20 in 1983, featuring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Janet Fielding as Tegan Jovanka, Mark Strickson as Vislor Turlough, and the introduction of Gerald Flood as the voice of Kamelion!

In this episode, Jesse and I discuss things like Jesse's love of medieval stories, the Doctor Who spinoff K-9 and Company, the Master's love of anagrams, Isla Blair as Mrs. Donovan in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, some background on the Magna Carta, John Nathan-Turner being impressed by the demonstration of the Kamelion robot prototype, why Kamelion wasn't used more on Doctor Who, Anthony Ainley being credited in the Radio Times as "James Stoker" to hide the Master's return, the Doctor's history of being a swordsman, the last appearance of the TARDIS console room set that debuted in "The Invisible Enemy", the Doctor and his companions being greeted as demons by "King John", Tegan complaining about the cold temperature, our love of Errol Flynn's The Adventures of Robin Hood, Doctor Who always doing well with period costumes and sets, the Doctor pretending to do a heel turn, the Kamelion prop not being what it needed to be, the Batwoman TV show not having the sense to recast Kate Kane, Hugh Fitzwilliam being pissed off that Sir Gilles Estram didn't kill him after their joust, the Master's love of disguises, Jesse proudly figuring out that Sir Gilles was the Master in disguise, the Doctor not being impressed with the Master's plan to rob the world of the Magna Carta, Kamelion being freed from the Master's control and becoming a new companion, the Doctor setting a trap for the Master using the Master's Tissue Compression Eliminator, our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Holly from Wisconsin, Sandi from Oregon and Dave Proctor, Bruce Springsteen fans being pissed about ticket prices for the upcoming tour, my upcoming return to DC Comics for the Halloween anthology DC's Terrors Through Time #1, our upcoming discussion of the Big Finish audio "Davros", and more!
