NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 186: "Terror of the Zygons" Is Up!

"But you can't rule a world in hiding.  You've got to come out onto the balcony sometimes and wave a tentacle."
-- The Fourth Doctor to Broton, Doctor Who: "Terror of the Zygons"

Hello again, everyone!  My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with another new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast!  This time, we're joined by special guest companion John Takacs to discuss "Terror of the Zygons", the first serial from Doctor Who Season 13 in 1975, featuring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, Ian Marter as Harry Sullivan, and the first appearance of the Zygons!

In this episode, Jesse, John and I discuss things like gradually reopening the TARDIS, John's Cyberman mask for dealing with the Coronavirus, Doctor Who Action Figure Theatre, how John is coping during the Coronavirus, another TV show I need to start watching, the launch of HBO Max, the alternate opening to "Terror of the Zygons", Nicholas Courtney laying into Tom Baker for his unprofessional behavior on set, the Jesse Jackson Pacing Drinking Game, feeling bad for Doctor Who cosplayers in Atlanta, Peter Cushing's Doctor becoming canon, the Fourth Doctor wearing a long tartan scarf, more of Sarah Jane being the Lois Lane of Doctor Who, the Fourth Doctor's self-confidence, the Fourth Doctor putting Sarah Jane into a trance so she doesn't have to breathe, Harry facing off against the Zygons, UNIT going Zygon hunting in the forest, UNIT soldiers vs. Star Wars stormtroopers, wondering why Angus' "second sight" wasn't used, the Zygons' really cool design, the great cliffhanger at the end of Part One, the Skarasen being one of the worst-looking Doctor Who monsters ever, hoping for a new CGI Skarasen in a future video re-release, wondering why the Zygons were never brought back in the classic era, the creepy Sister Lamont, the Fourth Doctor electrocuting himself, the greatness of the score, "Terror of the Zygons" being a good gateway episode to the classic era, our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Holly Mac and David K. Proctor, Jesse FINALLY having me on his Bruce Springsteen podcast, the penultimate Doctor Who Lockdown global rewatch, Jesse celebrating his birthday, why weren't not discussing "Arc of Infinity" next, and more!
