Solo BLACK WIDOW Film Being Discussed

In a press conference for the Iron Man 2 DVD/Blu-Ray release today, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirmed that a solo Black Widow film with Scarlett Johannson reprising the role as Natasha Romanoff is currently being discussed.

"We've already started discussions with Scarlett about the idea of a solo movie and have begun putting together concepts," said Feige, "but The Avengers comes first."

The full transcript of the press conference can be found here at SuperheroHype.  No other information about the film so far, but this seems like enough of a reason to post a Scarlett Johansson pic.

  1. So will this break the solo female comic hero curse, Catwoman, Electra, etc? I'm in no matter what!

  2. I certainly hope so, if only because tanking at the box office will mean that studios will become even more reluctant to make superheroine movies.

The key here is to just make a good movie. With Black Widow appearing in Iron Man 2 and now The Avengers, the character should have enough exposure to sell a solo movie as long as the initial trailer and word-of-mouth is positive.
