NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 369: "Fear Her" Is Up!

"There's a lot of things you need to get across this universe -- warp drive, wormhole refractors...You know the thing you need most of all? You need a hand to hold."
-- The Tenth Doctor to Rose Tyler, Doctor Who: "Fear Her"

Hello again, everyone! My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back for another new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast! This time, we discuss "Fear Her", the eleventh episode from Doctor Who Series 2 in 2006, featuring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, Abisola Agbaje as Chloe Webber, and Nina Sosanya as Trish Webber!

In this episode, Jesse and I discuss things like the fun we have before hitting Record, Doctoring the F Up, discussing the good AND the bad episodes, Matthew Graham being the creator of Life on Mars and the sequel Ashes to Ashes, Nina Sosanya appearing as Sister Mary Loquacious in Good Omens, this episode featuring two actors from Love Actually, Russell T Davies asking Matthew Graham for a cheap episode, Matt Smith carrying the actual 2012 Olympic torch instead of David Tennant, the episode replacing a submission called "The 1920s" by Stephen Fry, the episode being filmed in January instead of the July setting, BBC news presenter Huw Edwards' audio from this episode being redubbed by a different actor, both of us being disappointed that Doctor Who was snubbed from the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony, everything becoming history eventually, the Doctor having to rematerialize the TARDIS so he could get out, the Doctor casually mentioning to Rose that he was a father once, why we'll never find out why the Doctor originally left Gallifrey, Jesse and I having a fan fiction background, Batman: The Killing Joke, Rose having to locate the Isolus pod without the Doctor, my wife Lori and I visiting London in 2012 shortly before the Olympics, Chloe being unlikeable and unsympathetic, Trish being a horribly underwritten character, Rose having to help Kel push a car in neutral, the Scribble Monster, wondering why nobody freaked out that everyone disappeared from the Olympic stadium, wondering why the Doctor wasn't tackled by security when he picked up the Olympic torch, our favorite quotes of the episode, my Reverse the Polarity segment, new listener feedback from Holly Mac and Sandi from Oregon, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Eighth Doctor, and more!

THE FANDOM ZONE 346: "The Grand Design" Is Up!

"Somehow, I must have known that you would walk through those doors and change everything."
"Lucky then, I guess, that day."
"Mmm, no, not luck. Not luck at all. It was the grand design."
-- Vanessa Fisk and Mayor Wilson Fisk, Daredevil: Born Again -- "The Grand Design"

Hello again, everyone! DJ Nik and I are back for another new episode of The Fandom Zone Podcast! This time, we discuss "The Grand Design", the fifth episode of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, featuring Charlie Cox as Daredevil/Matt Murdock, Vincent D'Onofrio as The Kingpin/Wilson Fisk, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, and the return of Elden Henson as Franklin "Foggy" Nelson!

In this episode, DJ Nik and I talk about things like recording on Superman Day, The Fandom Zone being your refuge in the darkness, some comics background on Buck Cashman a.k.a. Bullet, the names written on the Landman & Zack document boxes being references to Daredevil: Born Again crew members, this episode having three main stories, the surgeon who operated on Vanessa needing to leave town quickly, the Kingpin being a control freak even about Vanessa's medical care, Matt Murdock's Catholic guilt about throwing Bullseye off a roof in the beginning of Daredevil: Born Again, Matt's Catholicism leading him to making really bad choices that come back to bite him, Matt finding ways to keep feeding his Catholic guilt, my letting Nik know that Arkham Asylum is now Arkham Tower in Batman comics, Daniel getting a hug from BB Urich, the flashback of Vanessa going against her boss to display the Rabbit in a Snowstorm painting, Bullseye trying to piss off Daredevil so that Matt will get angry enough to let him die, the flashbacks with Matt & Foggy while they were still associates with Landman & Zack, the flashback featuring Toby Leonard Moore returning as James Wesley, Foggy trying to get Matt to show mercy, Daniel trying to be like Buck, Daniel freaking the hell out that Buck is driving him out to the woods to murder him, learning how Buck was brought into the Kingpin's inner circle by James Wesley, wondering if we'll see the Night Nurse again, Daniel learning Buck was really wanting him to help bury Christofi Savva's body, Karen's reaction to Matt bringing Bullseye back to their secret lair, Wilson Fisk regressing to the state when his mother died, our favorite quotes of the episode, new Fandom Zone Fanmail from Dave Proctor and Jesse Jackson, wondering what the Kingpin will do now that Vanessa is dead, and more!
